    Invasives group tomeet in Keshena

    The Timberland In-vasives Partnership hasscheduled its annual meet-ing for Feb. 23, for all part-ners and any interested in-dividuals. TIP was formedin 2014 to combat the nega-tive impacts of invasivespecies. The TIP manage-ment area includes thelands and waters of Lan-glade, Menominee, Ocontoand Shawano counties.

    The Bonduel High School wres-tling team advanced fve wrestlersto Saturdays WIAA Division 3sectional. Shawano senior WyattWelch was the lone Hawk to moveon in Division 2.

    Welch (22-11), who also ad-vanced to sectionals last season,took home a regional title Sat-urday in Seymour by defeatingFreedoms Koy Murphy in the

    113-pound championship match.Sophomore Jacob Banker (35-

    8) earned Bonduels only regionalchampionship in Oconto, defeat-ing Gillett/Surings Alex Zeitler inthe 160-pound title match.

    Four Bears fnished in secondplace. Senior Garrett Siolka (28-2)fell in the 132-pound champion-ship to Ocontos Elton Kelsey, 3-2,before winning the wrestlebackto advance to sectionals. Sopho-more Jordan Boldt (37-6) fell in

    over the weekend

    Shawano County sheriffs dep-uties logged 56 incidents over the

    weekend, including disturbancesin Gresham and the towns of RedSprings and Pella; a property theftcomplaint in Cecil; a citation foroperating after revocation in thetown of Lessor; a citation for oper-ating without a license in Witten-berg; a harassment complaint inthe town of Belle Plaine; a proper-ty damage hit-and-run in the townof Aniwa; and an injury accident inthe town of Seneca.

    Shawano police logged 34 inci-dents over the weekend, includ-ing a burglary reported in the 300block of South Hamlin Street; a42-year-old man arrested for oper-ating while intoxicated at LincolnStreet and County Road B; a do-mestic disturbance in the 900 blockof Olson Street; a disturbance inthe 100 block of Sunset Avenue; aproperty damage hit-and-run atMain and Richmond streets; anda harassment complaint in the 800block of East Richmond Street.
