Happy Tummies School Supplies
When you are out shopping for school supplies, please consider picking up some supplies for the children in Guatemala. Impacto’s Happy Tummies program helps support children in four locations now. Here are some suggestions: box of 24 crayons, colored pencils, pencils, black and blue pens, composition or spiral notebooks, markers, pencil eraser caps, rulers. construction paper, scissors. We will have a Happy Tummies bin for you to put them in at church in the Atrium. Toothbrushes, bars of soap, washcloths, and hand towels are also always items needed at Happy Tummies. We will be packing all of these items when teams go to Guatemala in 2019, but this is a good time to get some of these items on sale! You will bring smiles to so many children like our friend Victor. Questions?

Building Mission Partnerships
A new group is starting with the purpose of exploring how we can partner with community organizations to provide outreach to folks in need, any kind of need. We want to discover how our new building can support such partnerships and how we can invite partners to
share our space.
The first meeting will be on Sunday, July 15, between services beginning at 9:45 am. Pastor Mark and Carol Martin will be facilitating the meeting and will be in the Atrium to direct you to the meeting room (128). All interested members and friends of the
St. Andrew community are invited to participate.
We have also created a Facebook group called St. Andrew Building Mission Partnerships that will be open to the public. Here we hope folks will suggest ideas, and here we will provide information about future meetings (as well as through regular church communications). If you cannot join us on July 15, please join the group and let us
know you plan to attend future meetings.
Earlier congregational study and reflection produced a “Recipe Book” of potential mission involvements that we will review together. It can be found on the St. Andrew website under About – The Next Chapter – and at the bottom of the page you will find a link to the Recipe Book. It will download on your computer as a PDF file which can be
read with Adobe Reader.
Question: Contact Pastor Mark at [email protected]. Friendly Recycling Reminder
The janitorial staff has asked us to remind everyone that the BLUE recycling receptacles around the church can only take clean recyclable items such as paper, clean cardboard, aluminum cans that have been rinsed out, and plastic that has been rinsed. Please DO NOT place any coffee cups in the recycling. Thank you!
Food Donations Requested for West High Food Pantry
Dear St. Andrew Presbyterian Church,
My name is Octavious Sullivan. Many of you know me by BJ Sullivan, and I am a Supervisory Paraeducator and Site Coordinator for Iowa City West highs food pantry. I would like to ask for your support for nonperishable food items or school supplies that we will distribute to our students and their
families who are food insecure and or low on school supplies.
Our primary goal is to provide our students and their families with nutritious and easy to prepare meals so that students can focus and be ready to learn while they are attending their classes. Your donation, which can be left in a donation bin in the Atrium, will help maintain our supplies to support students and their families in need throughout the school year. We are also collecting clothing items of
all sizes for men and women (winter coats, shirts, dresses, etc.)
Blessings to you all,
Octavious Sullivan Iowa City West High Welcome Center Coordinator
The Halversons are Back to Take Your Picture!
Jim and Wanda Halverson have, again, graciously offered to take photos for the St. Andrew InDirectory. They will be available in the Multi-Purpose Room (MPR) on Sundays, July 22 and August 5 between worship services. (PLEASE NOTE THE DATE AND TIME CHANGES FROM THE
MESSENGER ARTICLE). If you have not had your photo taken for the InDirectory, or you would like to have an updated photo taken, here’s your chance. No appointment is necessary, just show up and smile. We would especially appreciate newly elected officers
(Elders and Deacons) to get their photos taken. Thank you!
