The value of The 2007 Office system lies heavily on the tight integration between programs, servers, and hosted services that enables organizations to:Achieve results faster.Get employees to work together more effectively.Derive more business value out of their information.

The 2007 Office system reflects significant benefits for the operating and working capabilities of individual desktop environments. The 2007 Office system has been developed with similar key technologies and foundations and, as such, offers a number of additional benefits when deployed.

Building on existing Office server-enabled capabilities, weve expanded the system with new servers and solutions for sharing, analyzing, and managing information.

Office 2007 introduces a lot of new capabilities and allows us to compete in many more areas This gives us an opportunity to reduce customer expenses while increasing Microsoft revenues at our competitors expense. In other words, when youre selling an Enterprise CAL, for example, that is 2X the revenue to Microsoft compared to core CAL, but can dramatically reduce customer expense in competitive technologies such as FileNet (now owned by IBM), Google appliances, add-on security packages, etc. While adding more value extending the reach to many more users with familiar, easier to use applications etc. be aware that many customers separate desktop and server organizationally, so you may find governance issues with traditional IT Pro/TDM responsible for desktops colliding with IT Pro/TDM for servers, since Office 2007 is truly a combination of clients and servers.

Through a set of new hosted services, Microsoft delivers unique capabilities and a secure infrastructure for a variety of applicationsincluding unified communications, online training tools, and management applications.
