Favourite thing about your job: I am lucky enough to get the opportunity to form a strong bond with such incredible ma-jestic animals. In a way they feel like family. I also really enjoy being able to provide close up encounters for the general public and share the increadible experience of being in such amazing animals presence.

Highlight of your career:In 2011 I was there for the first successful birth and raising of Cheetahs in captivity in Aus-tralia. It was really humbling and an incredibly exciting time here at Monarto Zoo. Being able to watch the litter grow and play is priceless.

How you got your job:I studies zoology at Tafe SA and volunteered at Adelaide Zoo for 3 years whilst I studied. It was a great opportunity to gain experience but also to contribute to something bigger and see conservation efforts first hand.

Challenges in your role:Initially a big challenge for me was to overcome the intimidation that you feel being so close to such strong large animals. The longer that you work with carnivore such as big cats you begin to understand more about reading their moods and how they prefer to be ap-proached and treated. The bond is surreal.
