Are we going to let others control their futures? Is it time we took on this task ourselves?

Yes, it is time to take action!

Luzerne County is about to be hit AGAIN by thenegative effects of the natural gas industry.

An application for a permit for a Frack Water TreatmentPlant has been submitted to the County for Meeker

Outlet Road (the old Harveys Lake Gun Club property),in Lake Township. As a result, three or important andirreplaceable water sources will be at risk.

Drilling Waste Water is known to contain toxic, carcinogenic chemicals, and the application specifiesthat there will be 30 or more 20,000 gallon storage tanksinstalled at the site, as well as radioactive contaminanttesting areas. In addition, anticipate a future withnon-stop frack water trucks traveling 24/7, back andforth over our back roads.

Luzerne County Zoning Board will be holding a hearingfor Waveco's variance request on Tuesday, March 4th,Luzerne County Courthouse, 2nd Floor Meeting Room,

200 North River Street, Wilkes-Barre, PA 18711. BETHERE EARLY 6:00pm.

Crestwood's Plan: Two Projects - One company andits subsidiaries.

In 2013 Inergy LP merged with Crestwood Midstream of Houston, Texas. Crestwood still proposes tore-purpose 50 and 60 year old abandoned salt cavernsfor liquefied propane and butane storage, as well asexpansion of existing natural gas storage by Crestwoodsubsidiary Arlington Gas Storage. These unlined saltcaverns were never engineered or designed for thispurpose. The geology is highly questionable.

Arlington Gas Storage, a wholly owned subsidiary of Inergy, now Crestwood, applied to the Federal EnergyRegulatory Commission (FERC) in January, 2013 for aCertificate of Public Convenience and Necessity toexpand the natural gas storage that they purchasedfrom New York State Electric and Gas (NYSEG) from1.5 billion cubic feet (BCF) to 2.0 BCF. Crestwood alsostates on their website and in filings with the Securities

    increase natural gasusage in thisCommonwealth.

PROTESTORS TURN OUT FOR STOP COVE POINTRALLY

Last December, Cabot Oil & Gas issued a press releaseboasting its natural gas production rates in the MarcellusShale. For anyone who doesn't know, Cabot is thecompany barred from fracking in Dimock, PA after contaminating the water supplies of several familiesthere. Their "bad actor" behavior hasn't been confined toDimock. Cabot is one of the leading recidivists with 463wells in Pennsylvania and 449 permit violations.

Cabot issued the release to announce its deal to supplythe Japanese market with 350,000 MMBtus of naturalgas per day for 20 years. The deal goes only goes intoeffect if the proposed Cove Point LNG facility inMaryland where the gas would be liquefied for exportgoes into operation. And where would all of that gascome from? "This long-term firm sales agreement isanother milestone for Cabot's marketing efforts andensures the continuing development of our MarcellusShale position in Northeast Pennsylvania for years tocome," according to the release.

Over 800 protesters turned out for the Stop Cove Pointrally on February 20th in Baltimore plan to say no to theproposed $3.8 billion export project. If approved, it wouldbe the first LNG export facility on the eastern seaboard. The Chesapeake Climate Action Network (CCAN) andits partners organized the rally to put pressure on thestate's Public Service Commission in advance of its

March 1st public hearing where they'll consider issuing acertificate of public convenience and necessity and tocall on Senators Mikulski and Cardin to demand that theFederal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC)conduct a comprehensive Environmental ImpactStatement before considering approving the project. Itshould be astonishing that that FERC has indicated ithas no plans to conduct an EIS, but anyone familiar withthe commission knows it frequently rubber-stampsprojects without thorough environmental reviews.
