Now in its ninth year, the Chamber Music Festival of the Bluegrass is a Central Kentucky cultural destination. The 2015 Festival presents an expanded line up of 14 musicians from New York’s Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center (CMS), including CMS Artistic Directors David Finckel and Wu Han. The Festival will be

highlighted by a performance of Aaron Copland’s Appalachian Spring.

Long before the trendy farm-to-fork movement took off, the Shakers spent their days tending thousands of acres of vegetables, fruits and livestock, then preparing wholesome feasts for nearly 500 community members. Today, The Farm grows seasonal produce for The Trustees’ Table, just steps from the garden gate. Visit The Farm and discover organic gardening tips, four-legged friends and barnyard adventures for the entire family.

Sheep ShearingAPRIL 4–25 Visit the farm and see us shear our flock of sheep, then learn how the Shakers created colorful wool shawls and other textiles through spinning and weaving demonstrations.

Breakfast with the BabiesAPRIL 4, 11, 18 + 25 Enjoy a kid-friendly buffet breakfast, then get a hands-on introduction to the newest additions to our farm family, including lambs, kids, chicks and more. Times vary, $10-20

Garden Trellis WorkshopAPRIL 25 Join our farmers in Shaker Village’s organic garden to learn how to make trellises using a variety of materials, including native River Cane. 2pm, $25

Family Farmer for a Day MAY 2 Does your family have what it takes to run a farm? Help our farmers weed the garden, start seeds to take home, feed animals, clean our barn and survey The Farm from a private hayride. 2pm, $5-$10

Help the GardenerSow seeds in the springtime and harvest crops in the fall, while learning how to maintain your own garden.

Meet the AnimalsMeet the newest stars of our farm family—Roz and Sadie. These spirited sister Shires, along with our Percheron mares, working steers, Scottish Highlanders and others, call The Farm home.

Edible Mushroom Workshop JUNE 6 + 7 Join wild mushroom expert, Eric Osborne, for this hands-on workshop to learn how to cultivate your own mushrooms at home. Steeped in tradition, The Trustees’ Table celebrates Shaker Village’s roots by featuring meals made of ingredients from our garden and local farmers. Dine on traditional favorites and Kentucky classics, such as fried chicken, corn pudding, tomato celery soup, cole slaw,

corn sticks and Shaker lemon pie, served alongside dishes inspired by the seasons.
