He alsothankedthemembershipfortheopportunitytoserveasSTAPresidentfor2018.Indoingso,hepromised to "Make the STAs Great Again".Somewhere, we all have heard that before!Twenty-fourmemberswereinattendance.
Due to the impending NCAA NationalChampionship Game being played on the samenightasourmeeting,PresidentMattannouncedourmeeting would be abbreviated. Apparently,he feelssurehewillbeable to "Make theSTA'sGreat Again" but was not successful in closing"TheDeal"withthepowersthatbetomovethegametoTuesdaynight. In lieu of our usual Joke of the Month, RalphNeitzke was asked to offer an opening prayer.Ralphalsoaddeda famous "Tribute toWomen"oration from Will Rogers. All were somewhatsurprisedatthefinalverse!NicejobRalph! Our"NameTagPenaltyCollectionCup"receivedonly one donation. Vice President Mikeapparently decided he didn't need a nametagsince he had not forgotten his name.Unfortunately,thatclaimdidnotexcusehimfromtheenormouspenalty.Novisitorsornewmemberswerepresent.Our Treasurer, Richard Dunevent, once againassured the group our treasury continues to besolvent and reported several deposits madeduringthelasttwomonths.AmotionwasmadefromthefloortoaccepttheDecemberMinutesaspublishedinTheNewsletteras well as a motion to accept the Treasurer'sReport. Both received a second and passed byunanimousvote.

BOARDMEETINGMINUTES
Minutesfrom“TheBoardroom”January17,2018
Recordedby:FrankKnapp–SecretaryOn January 17, 2018, five STA Board Members braved the "snow storm" to attend a lunch Board of Directors meeting held at CiCi's Pizza on Washington Road. Those present were President Matt, Vice President Mike, National Director Jim, Board Member at Large, Dan and Yours Truly, Secretary. Several ideas were discussed concerning future club sponsored tours. Of special interest were the following: - Attend the annual "Picnic in The Park" tour. - Possible joint meeting with The Southside As
from Atlanta. - A proposed Model A Public Show, possibly
inviting other clubs. - Gathering at the Snow Cap Restaurant in North
Augusta. - The Trenton Peach Festival. - Return of our Saturday Tech Sessions including
complimentary lunch. - The December Christmas Party. It was decided that "Picnic in The Park" will definitely be one of the club's official tours. A sign-up sheet will be passed at the February meeting and more info posted in The Newsletter. All other suggestions will need further discussion, preferably with input from the general membership. Since most of our board members enjoy lunch every Wednesday at CiCi's, future Board Meetings will be held at this venue. Unfortunately for those present, The Shade Tree As did not pick up "the tab". Your Board of Directors is working hard. Do your part, make suggestions, get involved, but most of all............... Participate!
