HOW WE WORKAUTOMATION PROJECT MANAGEMENT PROGRAMTo simpl i fy the process of ordering and automating windowcoverings, our Automation Project Managers (APM) help you design, specify and manage your projects. They col laborate with your team of architects, bui lders, instal lers and integrators to ensure your project is completed accurately and eff ic ient ly.

STEPS1. Cal l 888.582.8780 and ask for one of our APM’s. Then complete an Automation

Worksheet descr ibing the project detai ls.

2. Your APM wi l l design an automation solut ion customized to your project needs and preferences.

3. A quote wi l l be del ivered for your approval .

WHAT WE OFFEROur automated Roman Shades, Rol lershades and Draperies operate where handcrafted tradit ions meet cutt ing-edge technology. From automating a s ingle window to an ent ire home, whether new construct ion, remodel or retrof i t , we have motor and control solut ions for any project.

MOTORS We automate our windowcoverings using only top-of-the-l ine motors and components from Lutron® and Somfy®.

Wireless: Our Motor-Clutch is a wire-free motor that runs on AA l i th ium batter ies. I t is an ideal automation solut ion for retro-f i t s i tuat ions where power cannot otherwise be provided.

Quiet: We offer a number of near-si lent motors that operate at a whisper (44dBA at three feet). These quiet motors can work without disturbing tranqui l i ty within a room.

Powerful: With our wide range of motors, we can specify a motor that eff ic ient ly dr ives nearly any shade dimension. Shade size is no longer a l imitat ion.

CONTROLS From simple wireless remotes to complete integrat ion within a home automation system, we can help develop a control solut ion as unique as the shades in the home.

Wireless controls: Our remotes, keypads, sensors and t imers operate wirelessly using Radio Technology. Without needing to run wire, shades can be operated with the simple push of a button.

Sun Sensors & Timers: Shades and draperies can be programmed to open and close automatical ly with weather condit ions or at specif ic t imes without anyone having to choose to operate them.

Integration: Our motors can be integrated into the most advanced home automation and l ight ing control systems and then programmed to custom preferences.

FREQUENT QUESTIONSWHAT IF IT’S TOO LATE IN A PROJECT TO HARDWIRE FOR AUTOMATED WINDOWCOVERINGS? I t ’s never too late to hardwire. Integrators are adept at gett ing wire where i t ’s needed. Low voltage cable is smal l , easi ly hidden and may not require a permit to run. Addit ional ly, hardwired motors can be specif ied with cords that can be hidden behind drapery panels and plugged into standard out lets. And i f power cannot be made avai lable, our battery operated Motor-Clutch is an ideal solut ion.

WHAT IS THE COST? The cost wi l l vary depending on the size and complexity of your project. Please contact an APM for a quote.

WHO PROGRAMS THE CONTROLS? Our automation special ists set and test shade l imits and program remotes and keypads before they leave the f in ishing faci l i ty. I f the windowcoverings are being integrated into a home automation or l ight ing control system, our special ists set and test l imits and any integrat ion is done by either the instal ler or integrator. Using the Automation Worksheet, we can help you ident i fy who should program the shades in that case.

DOES IT TAKE LONGER TO DELIVER AUTOMATED WINDOWCOVERINGS? Yes. Lead t imes may extend depending on size and complexity of project and avai labi l i ty of parts. Contact our Customer Relat ions department for an est imate.

WHAT IF I MAKE A MISTAKE?We encourage you to work with our APM’s from the start of a project to ensure that you don’t make a mistake in specify ing automation. I f a mistake is made, contact our Customer Relat ions department and we’ l l help you work through it .

CAN ANYONE INSTALL AUTOMATED WINDOWCOVERINGS? Most professional instal lers can instal l our Motor-Clutch system whi le hardwired systems may require an electr ic ian or integrator as wel l . In some cases, instal lat ion requires a cert i f ied technician. Your APM can help you plan for instal lat ion.
