Rabbi’s Message
An angelic parsha! Avraham and angels and
then Lot with angels. There is a curious
difference in their descriptions – when
Avraham meets them approaching his tent the Torah calls them
“men” and when Lot meets them in Sodom they are called
“angels”. The Medrash comments that compared to Avraham’s
spiritual greatness the angels looked like mere humans, but
compared to Lot’s woeful stature they were indeed angels.
Another thought. Avraham believed in humanity and when he
saw people approaching who seemed to be honest and law
abiding citizens he thought they were upstanding individuals.
When Lot saw the very same people his immediate assumption
was that they were angels because he could not believe people
have the capacity to do the right thing with no ulterior motive.
May we always do the right things for the right reason…and be
truly angelic!
With great warmth, regards from frigid Bayside Wisconsin
where we are celebrating the Bar Mitzvah of our grandson,
Sender Edelman. May we all celebrate many simchas.

The front door of the shul will be locked daily after 8:00 AM Shacharis.
• When pressing the shul buzzer, you must face the camera to the right so we can identify you. It is difficult to know who it is
with the majority of people wearing hats/baseball caps.
• Please be extra cautious and take a moment to make sure the front door of the shul remains closed and locked upon entering and leaving the shul at all other times.
• If you must use the door stopper, after you have completed your task, please remember to close the door and make sure it is locked.
These measures are for everyone’s safety!
