Sewing Machine Caddy TutorialGreetings. Here is a great tutorial
on a quick and easy sewing machine caddy. If you are like me I love
to quilt and sew but having to hunt for my scissors and other tools
drives me crazy. With a sewing machine caddy all my tools are
within arms length. These would make great gifts,bizarresales, or
Christmas gifts for your quilting and sewing friends. Enjoy, Robert

Supplies:1 fat quarter for outer fabric
1 fat quarter for lining fabric
Batting at least 20" by 24"
Scissors
Cutting Mat
Ruler
Rotary Cutter
Thread
Seam Ripper
Sewing Machine
Directions:1.)Press your fat quarters before starting your
project.
2.)Square up your fat quarters and cut as needed. Finished size
of fat quarters can range from 17.5" to 18" depending on how much
it cut off to square up.
3.)Trim your batting to your fat quarter size.
4.)Place your fat quarters on top of your batting right sides
together. Pin to hold layers together for sewing.
5.)Using a 1/4" seam sew around your stack. Leave opening for
turning. 6.)Trim corners and turn.
7.)After turning press fabric square flat and close opening used
for turning.
8.)Mark up 4" on the long sides(22"). Mark both sides 4" up from
bottom. I used stick pins to mark my sides. This mark will be your
fold line.
9.)Fold up at your marks and pin into place for sewing. You
should now have approximately an 18" square.
10.)Stitch around your 18" square making sure to catch the edge
of your fold up pocket.
11.)Now you need to mark your smaller pockets for sewing. Again
I used stick pins to mark my sewing lines. Your pocket sizes will
depend on the tools you use. I laid out the tools on the caddy then
I marked my sewing lines.
12.) Your sewing machine caddy is now ready to hang and use.
