BAPTISM Celebration of Entrance into Christ’s Church
You must be a registered parishioner in this parish.
At least one Godparent must be a practicing Catholic. The other must be a Christian.
Parents must register for a class on Baptism BEFORE your baby is baptized. Archdiocesan required classes are held once a month, usually on the 1st Monday of the month, and facili-tated by trained parishioners. Baptism contact Joan DeVito 448-4861 ext. 237
RCIA Celebration of the Rites of Christian Initiation of Adults This process is for adults who would like to join the Roman Catholic Church and have never been Baptized, or were Baptized in another Christian denomination. SCRIPTURE REFLECTION
The Lord's message, through Moses, was to "take no revenge and cherish no grudge . . . love your neigh-bor as yourself" (Leviticus 19:18). We might think, "Great in theory, but not always realistic!" Then Jesus in today's Gospel goes even further. Take a slap in the face and then turn the other cheek? Treat enemies the same as friends? Again, we're tempted to think that those are nice ideals, but not very practical in the "real world."
Paul echoes Jesus when he tells the Corinthians that what passes for human wisdom is absurdity to God. Divine wisdom casts sunshine on the good and the bad, showers rain on the honest and the dishonest--without distinction. We must examine our wisdom and common sense to see how they compare to the wisdom of God, and make adjustments accordingly.

Geared For Young People
CELEBRATED EVERY SUNDAY AT 6:00 pm
All St. Alexander Parish teens, Religious Educa-tion Program and School students are invited to join the Life Teen Group. Following mass we move to our meeting room for what is known as Life Night. Here we share food, movies, games, stories, and fun. It is a great chance to keep up with old friends and make new friends as well. It doesn’t cost anything to join and you can come whenever it suits you. Please plan to join us soon and be sure to bring your friends!

This weekend, our parish will be conducting the Annual Catholic Appeal in-pew Commitment Weekend. Please remember that the Annual Catholic Appeal is much different than a one-time special collection. It is a pledge campaign where you can make a gift payable in installments.
The ACA theme, “Love Your Neighbor As Yourself”, was selected to remind us that our contributions to the An-nual Catholic Appeal enable the funded ministries and services to share God’s love with many others in our par-ish and our Archdiocese.
Each pledge makes a difference because all parishes participate in the campaign and the gifts of many enable our Archdiocese to deliver needed ministries and services.

Mark your calendar now. Our parish Lenten Parish Mission is not too far off. This year
we are proud to present Mr. Todd Williamson as our speaker. Mr. Williamson is the Di-
rector of the Office for Divine Worship for the Archdiocese of Chicago. The dates for
the Mission are Monday, March 27th through Wednesday March 29th. The Mission will
begin at 7:00 p.m. each night. Plan to join us for one or all three nights. Don’t forget to

St. Alexander is part of a fundraising program with Midwest Paper Retriever Co. The paper recycling bin is located in the northeast corner of our parking lot near the Parish Center. Please drop off your paper products including: newspaper, catalogs, magazines, junk mail, office paper, school paper, notebooks and folders.
Our parish receives a rebate on the amount collect-ed each week, but more importantly Midwest has estimated our annual savings to the environment:

Terry is Pastoral Associate/DRE at St. Mary Star of the Sea in Chicago. She holds degrees in Early Childhood Education and Pastoral Studies. Both have ministered for many years in parish ministry.
