LocationThe Service Operations Focus Day is hosted by ISLA’s corpo-
rate member Katoen Natie at Fortress Singelberg, the com-
pany’s office complex in the port of Antwerp (Ketenislaan 1,
9130 Kallo). Founded in 1854, Katoen Natie today supplies
logistics and semi-industrial services to various industries in
all parts of the world — employing over 13,000 people. One
business line is Aftermarket Logistics: Katoen Natie currently
manages more than 500,000 stock keeping units on multi-
customer platforms. Antwerp and the city’s port can easily
be reached by car, as well as by airplane. Travelling from
Brussels Zaventem Airport takes about one hour (~60 km).
OrganizerThe Innovati0n Forum is organized by the International
Service Logistics Association. ISLA was founded in 2003 as a
network of professionals dedicated to Service Management
and Spare Parts Logistics. It is not commercially driven, and
thus it depends on the support of its members for the work
it does. Over 50 companies from 15 European countries,
Israel, China and the USA have joined the association. They
are globally active in spare-parts and service-intensive busi-
nesses such as Automotive, Consumer Goods, Healthcare,
Hightech and Machinery (see a few of them listed below).
New members are always welcome to support ISLA in its
efforts to provide a valuable networking and training
platform for the service and logistics community. For

Service Operations Focus Day in Antwerp on June 8, 2016
AgendaThe program will start with a meeting session that provides
an interactive forum for presentations and discussions on
recent trends, strategic approaches and projects in service
operations. A major topic to discuss will be the outsourcing
to logistics service providers (LSP): When does it make sense,
which functions should be kept in-house, and what are the
requirements for a beneficial OEM-LSP-collaboration? The
afternoon will include a tour of the spare parts operations
which Katoen Natie runs for Polaris Industries and KitchenAid.
Headquartered in Minnesota (USA), Polaris Industries designs,
manufactures and markets innovative high-performance
motorized products, including ATVs (all-terrain vehicles),
snowmobiles and motorcycles. KitchenAid is a home appli-
ance brand owned by Whirlpool Corp. Since the introduction
of its legendary stand mixer in 1919, KitchenAid now offers
virtually every essential for the well-equipped kitchen. In
addition to KitchenAid’s European warehouse, Katoen Natie
has established a Factory Service Center for them in 2015.
