The IPARD ModelThe Process for Creating a Project

• Investigate/Plan – Identify and analyze youth and community needs; choose a project; learn skills and curriculum to perform the project; and outline the logistics of the project. (90% time)

• Action – Perform the service as planned. Prepare for unforeseen circumstances.

• Reflection – Perform inquiries and assessments throughout the process enabling youth to learn from the service experience and link the learning to the service.

Reflection is the “Key to LEARNING.”

• Demonstration – Recognize the impact of the service on youth and community; demonstrate the success; and celebrate what was learned through demonstration.
