Overview
Overview
Thank you for ordering JD Edwards World Service Enablement. This
Java based service enablement product is a statement of Oracle's
continued commitment to the JD Edwards World product family.
Service Enablement allows you to integrate your JD Edwards World
Software with other software packages through the use of Java based
web services.
This guide explains installation and configuration options and
steps for JD Edwards World Service Enablement. This includes the
LegaSuite GUI product from Seagull Software, formerly known as
Transidiom. We use the name Transidiom in this guide, to match the
version of the product we are using.
To use JD Edwards World Service Enablement, you must first decide
whether to run the Seagull Transidiom Server on the iSeries
(Deployment Option 1) or on a Windows/NT server (Deployment Option
2). This guide contains an explanation for both options. The
explanation of the Transidiom Central application install is first
and the two deployment options follows.

Pre-Installation Conditions
Pre-Installation Conditions
Before you install JD Edwards World Service Enablement, refer to
the JD Edwards World A9.1 Minimum Technical Requirements guide for
information about hardware and software you must install prior to
this installation. You should also access Customer Connection for
updates to this guide.
You must set up a proxy user for use with Service Enablement. For
security reasons, this application functions with a proxy account
with limited authority. For AS400 administration, the requirements
for proxy user profile are as follows:
User class is *USER
Special Authority is *NONE
Group Profile is QUSER
Limit capabilities is *YES
Additionally, the proxy user must have authority to use menu travel
and fast path.

Deployment Complete
Deployment Complete
Congratulations, you have completed the install of JD Edwards World
A9.1 Service Enablement. The following components have been
installed:
Transidiom Central on the local machine
Transidiom Gateway on either the local machine or the iSeries
Transidiom AIS on either the local machine or the iSeries
World A9.1 Service Enablement Transidiom scripts deployed on the
either the local machine or the iSeries
World A9.1 Service Enablement Java application .ear file for either
the Oracle Application Server (OAS) or the WebSphere Application
Server (WAS). For OAS, the file is
WorldServicesEnablement-A9.1-0.ear. For WAS, the file is
WorldSOA_A91_websphereear.ear. You can locate the file on the local
machine in the directory under: \JDE World Service
Enablement\WORLDSOA_WEBSERVICES folder. Also, the .ear file is on
the iSeries in the WORLDSOA_WEBSERVICES directory under the Root
IFS directory.
World A9.1 Service Enablement Java API .jar file, along with
supporting .jar files, is on the iSeries in the WORLDSOA_JAVA
directory under the Root IFS directory. The system uses this in
conjunction with the A9.1 Approvals Management system. See Appendix
B – Approvals Management System for more information.
Source code for the services is in a Source folder in the install
work folder. Source code is in the form of .zip files for use in
Oracle’s JDeveloper or IBM’s WebSphere Development Studio Client
(WDSC). Also available is source for the Service Enablement
Transidiom scripts. See Appendix C – Source Code for more
information.

Appendices
Appendices
Transidiom – For configuration of Transidiom components, see the
Transidiom documentation.
Service Enablement Components – Most of the configuration of the JD
Edwards World A9.1 Service Enablement Java components occurs within
the config.xml file. Following is an example:
The system configures most of the variable information during the
install process. If you need to change the config.xml, you can
either rerun the install process or change it when you install it
in the application server. Following are the parts of the
config.xml.
1. Transidiom host – the IP address for the machine where
Transidiom is running.
2. Port – the port that the Transidiom instance is using.
3. iSeries address – the name of the iSeries machine on which A9.1
running.
4. MaxConnections – the maximum number of Java connections on the
iSeries.
5. Environment – the name of the production A9.1 environment.
6. ObjectLibrary – the name of the library where the system stores
World A9.1 objects.
Service Enablement Installation and Configuration Guide (Revised -
March 28, 2007) 43
Appendices
7. F0094Library – the name of the library where the system stores
the F0094 object. Typically this is JDEUSERS.
8. Connection maxWaitTime – maximum number of seconds to wait for
the system to establish a Java connection to the iSeries.
9. Prefill Connections – the number of pre-filled Java connections
to the iSeries. The system establishes this when you instantiate
the Java API layer.
10. Proxy User – the user id for the proxy user. The system uses
this to establish the Java to iSeries connections.
11. Proxy password -- the password for the proxy user. The system
uses this to establish the Java to iSeries connections.
12. SaleOrder, PurchaseOrder and JournalEntry processingVersion –
the DREAM Writer versions of the EDI (Z-File) batch programs the
system uses for processing those services. JD Edwards World
recommends that you do not change these.
13. Defaults PID and JOBN – the defaults for the PID and JOBN
fields in the Z-Files the system uses for Sales Order, Purchase
Order and Journal Entry EDI processing.
14. Debug – Enter ‘true’ or ‘false’. Determines the amount of data
feedback the Java API layer sends out.
TCP/IP Domain Configuration – For Transidiom to work efficiently,
the TCP/IP domain search priority should be set to “*LOCAL”. You
can set the TCP/IP domain search priority by entering the Change
TCP/IP Domain command, CHGTCPDMN, on the iSeries command
line.
Appendix B – Approvals Management System The Service Enablement
design supports the new JD Edwards World A9.1 Approvals Management
system. During the install, the system transfers the Service
Enablement Java API .jar file, along with supporting .jar files,
using FTP to the iSeries to the WORLDSOA_JAVA directory under the
Root IFS directory. The system also transfers config.xml and you
can find this in the WORLDSOA_JAVA\com\jdedwards\world\connection
directory.
To run the Service Enablement Java API layer natively on the
iSeries, the Java JVM must be running at the 1.4 level. One way to
ensure that the Java JVM level is set correctly is to set the
QIBM_RPG_JAVA_PROPERTIES.
To specify options in the QIBM_RPG_JAVA_PROPERTIES environment
variable, you code the options in a string, one after the other,
which you separate with any character that does not appear in any
of the options. You then end the string with the separator
character. For example, if you want to specify the options:
java.version=1.4
os400.stderr=file:stderr.txt
Appendices
Then you add the environment variable using the following
command:
ADDENVVAR ENVVAR(QIBM_RPG_JAVA_PROPERTIES)
VALUE('-Djava.version=1.4;-Dos400.stderr=file:stderr.txt;')
If the options string is not valid, Java may reject one of the
options. Message JVAB55A appears in the joblog indicating which
option was not valid.
Another way to set the JVM level is through the use of the
SystemDefault.properties file which is either in the current user’s
home directory (/home/username) or in the directory
/QIBM/UserData/Java400.
Appendix C – Source Code During the install process, the system
loads the source code for the Service Enablement Java API layer in
the install work directory. This includes two Java source .zip
files as well as a .zip file with the Transidiom script
files.
The first Java source .zip file includes the World SOA Project,
which is an Oracle JDeveloper project. Developers use the
JDeveloper tool for the Service Enablement project. Also in the
project is a Web Services Deployment configuration to create the
.ear files.
The second Java source .zip file includes an IBM WDSC workspace and
World SOA Workspace. JD Edwards World Development mainly used the
IBM WDSC workspace to create the .ear files to use with WebSphere
Application Server.
The Transidiom .zip file includes the Service Enablement Transidiom
project. You can modify and enhance this with the use of Seagull’s
5250 Connector Builder product.
