    He joined VSNL in June, 2006 as Vice President & Head Regulatory Affairs. Since then he has workedon various legal, licensing, regulatory and compliance issues concerning the companys operations andhas contributed a lot in charting the growth path of the company. He has been instrumental in getting theSpectrum and the associated approvals from the Government for launch of WiMax services by TataCommunications.

    Prior to working in VSNL, he was with Reliance Infocomm and was one of the members of the CoreRegulatory Team of Reliance Infocomm responsible for the overall Regulatory/Policy/Legal issues of thecompany. He joined Reliance Infocomm in August, 2004 as President Regulatory Affairs. Since then heworked on various legal, licensing, regulatory and compliance issues concerning the companysoperations and has contributed a lot in charting the growth path of the company.

    Praveen started his career as an Asst. Professor in Government Engineering College, Jabalpur fromDecember, 1986 to February, 1988. After qualifying the Indian Engineering Services Examination for theyear 1986, he joined the Indian Telecommunications Service in Department of Telecommunications asAsst. Divisional Engineer in March, 1988. While working in the Government in various positions he gainedwork experience in respect of installation planning and operations of a telecom network . Post 1998, hehas been associated with the Regulatory Regime of the country in all its aspects including licensing,commercial, legal, inter-operator issues on behalf of MTNL/BSNL the incumbent operators. Due to hisvast regulatory experience and expertise, he was sent on deputation by the Government to work in TRAIfrom August 2003 onwards wherein he gained additional expertise in broadcasting regulation as well.After serving in TRAI for one year, he returned back to DoT and resigned from the Government to joinReliance.

    Praveen has been associated actively in all the major litigations in the telecom sector since 1998.Praveen has also worked as a Regulatory expert for ITU.
