Working bio:
- I’m Sergio Martínez, a graphic artist with a natural passion for drawing. Since I was a child I developed my own skills in drawing with constant sketching and drawing comic strips. As a teenager discovered the local comic house Cygnus Comics, whose credentials included artists and comics such as Ultraduck (today being re-published by Edgar Delgado, Marvel colorist), El Cerdotado (a very popular mexican comic strip; by Polo Jasso), Lugo (a comic drawn by Carlo Barberi, Marvel penciler); after hearing about this comic house, I went there to learn as much as I could and taking some drawing, comics and inking classes there. After that I knew drawing will be my life.
- In the last years I nished my career in Graphic Design, focusing it in illustration and trying to learn and develop some other techniques, such as painting, sculpting, photography, design and digital media. During my college years had the opportunity to work in some independent projects, such a sculpting scenary design for a wrestling campaign; editorial design for an income magazine; assisting in the Art Gallery of Nuevo Leon; and some art expos in the Guadalupe Museum and even in a local tram station.
- Right after college I got hired by Luciernaga Studio, a local animation studio in which I worked designing back-grounds for the main animation series they had: Jeremy and the Yellow Monster, and some concepts for other animations.
- Then I got an oer for a new job at Graphikslava Studio. The studio is well known in the country and with most of it’s projects in the USA. Graphikslava mainly develops comics for some publishers such as Marvel, DC comics, IDW, Stone Arch Books, Dark Horse; and concept art for brands like Paizo and Games Workshop.
-Today I currently work at CGBot, a well known videogames studio. Here I develop concept art for console, PC and mobile videogames of almost any genre and rate.
Luciernaga Studio (2009 - 2010)Environment design for Jeremy and the Yellow Monster
Jeremy and the Yellow Monster is an animation and comics project developed by Luciernaga Studio. Is a show about a little kid and his new found goblin friend and the paranormal adventures they have. You can see the trailer here: http://youtu.be/FvZYuYOZaw4 . My main work here was to design and develop the environments where Jeremy had these adventures. Each envi-ronment was drawn at hand, then vectorized using Adobe Illustrator, and nally colored with Adobe Photoshop.

In Graphikslava the speciality were comic colors, Transformers: Rising Storm was one of the rst comics I colored; it was a 4 issue series I worked along with colorists Angelica Bracho and Juan Contreras, this was the rst page I got to color.

This is a spread sheet for the last comic book I worked for Stone Arch Books, title is Peter Bogg. Again I worked with fellow artist Angélica Bracho we were both in charge of lineart and colors. I also did the whole storyboard for this comic.
Pencils and storyboard were done using Manga Studio, color was a combination of Adobe Photoshop and Corel Painter.
ENNUI Studio (2012)Videogames sprites
I worked with ENNUI studio as an invited concept artist for just a few time. The game I got to work with was about dragons and mythical creatures, which was a lot of fun! This wyvern was an sprite for that game and was meant to be animated, so I worked it as a puppet, so animation department had the ability to move it as they wish.

This project required mate painting with some 3d props made by the 3d department. This was for a war themed trading card game, and it was really nice to work along with the 3d guys, I learned a lot. Up you can see the original image with the 3d objects arranged, but no paiting at all; down is the nal result after the mate painting.

CGbot (2012 - 2013)Videogames concept art
One big client of CGbot was Zinga. They make a lot of videogames for mobiles and Facebook. These are some of the sprites and icons I made for their games. A lot of these are animated gifs, so I attached a zip le with the gifs in low resolution for you to look at the animated characters. All done using Adobe Photoshop.

Characters made for a Blackjack game. These were made for Bee. Each one of these characters was done to represent a gure in a card deck: a King, a Queen, a Jack; depending on the topic and location was the design for the character.
Blackjack Bee games required UI’s to play in. The interfaces were represented as blackjack tables, these are tables for Barton Creek and Atlantic City.

Each location in these blackjack games also required a postcard to welcome the player to the new environ-ment. These are the postcards for Barton Creek and New Orleans.
