Alwin Samuel, Bishop. In our diocese of Niagara we pray for Church of the Transfiguration, St. Catharines; The Rev. Dr. Patricia Stansfield, rector, The Rev. Donald Brown honorary assistant and the people of that parish. In the Anglican/ Lutheran prayer cycle we pray for the theological colleges and training programs within the Ecclesiastical Province of Rupert’s Land: Arthur Turner Training School, the Centre for Christian Studies, the College of Emmanuel and Saint Chad, the Henry Budd College for Ministry, Saint John’s College, the Dr. William Winter School for Ministry, and the James Settee College for Ministry and the staff of the British Columbia Synod. In our partner diocese of Cuba we pray for the Missionary Station of San Pedro in Jobabo; The Rev. Miguel Armando Martín Ardao, rector and the peo- ple of that parish. Throughout history, music has formed a large part of the celebrations of any Monarch. So it is that the walls of Christ’s Church Cathedral will reverberate with the finest and most sumptuous music. CHORAL EVENSONG Sunday, September 20th To Commemorate the Reign of HM QUEEN ELIZABETH II Officiant - The Very Reverend Peter Wall Preacher - The Rt. Reverend D. Ralph Spence A service of Evensong at 4:30 pm is preceded by an organ recital at 4:00 pm given by renowned organist Ian Sadler featuring music of pomp and circumstance. The majestic service music is composed by the cele- brated C.V. Stanford with Responses by the Tudor composer, William Smith and the beloved Evening Hymn by Henry Balfour Gardiner. The Ride for Refuge is a non-competitive family-friendly cy- cling and walking fundraiser that helps charities and their sup- porters to raise money for their work with the displaced, vul- nerable and exploited. In support of our 140th Anniversary Refugee Sponsorship Initiative the diocese has registered as a charity and is encouraging parishes to create a team. This year's ride/walk will take place on Saturday, October 3, 2015 at 9am and participants will have their choice of routes - 5km, 10km, 20km or 50km. If you are interested in being part of the Cathedral team please call (905-527-1316 ext 240) or email ([email protected]) the church office. Let’s join The Dean and form a team!!!
