that doesn’t mean the excitement stops! September might just be our most exciting

month yet! Be sure to check your calendars so you don’t miss out on any of the fun!

One Love Music Festival

The Ca-Rib, Jerk and BBQ Fest featuring the One Love Music Festival is North America’s largest 4-day Caribbean food and music festival to-date. This amazing festival will showcase some of the biggest names in the Reggae, Dance Hall and Soca music industry. Not to be outdone, this festival will host some of the most awesome food and business vendors and showcase some of the most unique Ribbers. Toronto International BuskerFest 2019 Now in its milestone 20th year, the event is widely recognized as one of the best and biggest street performer festivals in the universe, and the largest epilepsy awareness event in the world! Join comedians, escape-artists, sword-swallowers, musicians, magicians, fire jugglers, acrobats, aerial artists, clowns and daredevils; over a hundred of the most extraordinary street performers on earth, as they descend upon Woodbine Park for some serious fun! CNE 2019

The Canadian National Exhibition (CNE) is Canada’s largest community event and one of the top 5 agricultural fairs in North America. Founded in 1879 as the Toronto Industrial Exhibition, the CNE has enjoyed a distinguished history as a showcase of the nation. People came to experience the latest innovations in technology and commercial products, to enjoy the popular entertainers of the time, and to engage in a collective community celebration When: August 16th -September 2nd 2019 Where: Exhibition Place – 100 Princes’ Blvd.

The Book of Life

In Kiki Katese's new project, The Book of Life, she leads an audience through a remarkable journey – a kind of how-to guide to rebuild a deep understanding of life in the aftermath of incalculable loss.The play is based on Kiki's years-long project of accumulating letters written by survivors and perpetrators of Rwanda's genocide, ordinary people, addressed to those who are gone. It is infused with original music performed and sung by the internationally acclaimed Women Drummers of Rwanda. When: September 17th-September 29th 2019. Campus Secrets and Spectres

Is Canada’s largest university also its most haunted? The grand architecture and tree-lined paths of the University of Toronto downtown campus is filled with dark history and ghostly tales. Hear about secret chambers, restless spirits trapped among the stars, haunting love stories and more. (90 minutes). Tickets cost $23.99. A Tapestry of Spirit: The Torah Stitch by Stitch Project

"A Tapestry of Spirit" presents the ambitious and inclusive social project to cross stitch the first five books of the bible as well as sections of the Scriptures and Qur'an. It is an immersive installation that has been collectively executed by almost 1500 volunteers of many faiths. Adult admission price is $15 and $10 for seniors. Marianne & Leonard: Words of Love "Laugh and cry and cry and laugh" as you take in the beautiful and troubled 1960s romance of poet and musician Leonard Cohen and his greatest muse, Marianne Ihlen. The two met serendipitously in their twenties on the idyllic Greek island of Hydra, when Leonard was a struggling artist, and continued their affair over the years as he transformed into one of the world's most renowned songwriters. Through old photos, archival footage, and a few interviews, trace the love story that gifted listeners with songs like "Bird on the Wire" and, of course, "So Long, Marianne." Alegria by Cirque du Solei Alegría is the nostalgic story of a monarchy that has lost its king. The Old Birds, who resist change and cling to old values, hover around Mr Fleur, a tricky and power-hungry man who proclaims himself king. Fleur and the Old Birds, with their outdated ideas, struggle to maintain power in a world they no longer understand. On the other hand, the Bronx, the strong and confident next generation, embrace modernity and strive to topple their oppressors to build a flourishing new society. Follow the story of Alegría, a world where the old order is being challenged and replaced by something new and unknown. Just for Laughs 2019 Celebrating its fourth anniversary this September, ComedyCon is back for more fun and games at this year’s JFL42, with an unrivaled slate of daytime programming that is guaranteed to knock your socks off. From September 20 to 22 and September 27 to 29, ComedyCon will feature even more In Conversations with some of today’s top comedic masterminds, as well as incredible cast panels, hilarious live podcasts, and so much more. Volunteers at Wellesley Central Place can spend time with

your loved one while engaging in various leisure activities

such as outdoor strolls in the backyard or courtyard, a

visit to Our Lady of Lourdes Church, a trip to the library

or coffee shop, reading and reminiscing.

If you would like to sign your loved one up for 1:1

THE NEW RULES

In May we started testing a new style of bingo rules – one that makes double, triple and

even quintuplet wins possible! Here are the new rules:

1. Each player can now win every round of bingo. HOWEVER, they can only win on

one card.

2. Each game still needs a new winner, but now people who have won in the previous

round can win again!

3. At the end of the Bingo session players can redeem their points right away or receive

Bingo Bucks! Bingo bucks can be traded in for various prizes. HOWEVER –

players can only claim 2 prizes per session.

4. Life Enrichment Staff will keep track of Bingo Buck balances – anyone who wishes

to hold off on claiming a prize can save their Bingo Bucks to trade in for a bigger

prize the next bingo session!

With this change comes some new bingo prizes, and prize packs! Below are some

examples.
