Student Safety Peanut / Tree Nut Aware School We have children in our school who have life threatening allergies to even trace amounts of peanuts and/or tree nut products. Due to the seriousness of this allergy, please do not send any products that contain peanuts and/or tree nuts to school. Products containing peanuts and/or tree nuts are not to be consumed on school property. We want our school grounds to be safe and welcoming for each and every student. Thank you in advance for your cooperation. I would like to take this opportunity to welcome everyone to the 2017-18 school year and I would like to thank the families and staff of RCS for an incredibly smooth startup this year! Also, a very special welcome to our Kindergarten students as well as several students and staff who are new to Robson Community School this year! The upcoming school year will undoubtedly bring many new and exciting opportunities for students. I look forward to working with our staff as well as all members of our school community to provide the absolute best educational experience for your child/children. Bell Schedule To help organize your child’s appointments, the following information regarding the daily schedule may be helpful to you: 8:25am Welcoming Bell 8:30am School Begins 10:10-10:25 Recess 12:05pm Outside (Playground) 12:30pm Inside to Eat Lunch 12:50pm End of Lunch 2:20pm Dismissal (End of Day) Please note that school supervision begins at 7:55am. We ask that children do not arrive at school before that time, to ensure they are supervised on the playground. Thank you for your understanding.

Families are invited to attend a Meet and Greet/Open House on Thursday, September 21st at 6:30pm. Please come and meet your child’s teacher and stay connected with your child’s learning!

Breakfast Program

Starting on Monday, September 11thwe will be providing students with a breakfast option five days a week. Students who are in need of a breakfast are welcome to come to the community room, starting at 8:00am.

Lunch Program

RCS will continue to provide nutritious bag lunches for students in need through the School Meals Program. Parents who wish to enroll their child/children in the program can do so at the school office.

Student Fees

There standardized student fees for all elementary students in School District 20. These fees cover the costs of Cultural Events and the use of District Technology. Also, for Grades 1 to 7, there is a fee for student agendas. If your child is taking band, there is an additional band fee. Thank you for ensuring that these fees are paid in a timely manner. At RCS, all students will be provided with access to programs, services, and educational opportunities provided by the school, regardless of financial need. Please contact the principal, Bud Gregory, to access our Hardship Policy. All information given/discussed is kept confidential.

After School Care We are pleased that Blueberry Creek Community School Society will continue to provide after school care service for our families. If you require care after school, please complete a registration package and return it to our office. Once your child is registered, you can call our After School Care Program Coordinator, Mrs. Teresa Rogers, at 250-304-5714.

Completion of Forms Your child will be bringing home many forms to complete as part of our school startup procedure. We ask that you please complete and return these forms to the school in a timely manner. Thank you!

Terry Fox Run

RCS will be participating in the 2017 Terry Fox Run on Thursday, September 28th during school hours. Students are asked to wear walking/running shoes and appropriate outdoor clothing on this day. We are asking able families to make a donation of $2 to the Terry Fox Foundation. Donations can be dropped off at your child’s classroom or the office.

Photo Day

Lifetouch Photography will be at our school on Thursday, September 14th to take pictures of students and staff. An opportunity for retakes will happen on the morning of Friday, October 27th.
