God has allowed me to build relationships with so many over the years. I have watched as the Lord has brought congregations, Pastors and Ministers together and realized how sweet it is for the Saints to dwell together in Unity. The Lord gave me a vision and instilled a passion to share this message across Eastern Ky. I would like to thank every congregation, Pastor and layperson for their support of the Rally’s for the past ten years. The East District Rally that was held on August 21 at Mud Lick FCOG was such a blessing to myself and many others. To see how God used this Rally to celebrate our 10 th year anniversary with 29 congregations coming together from all across the East District to worship together was wonderful. Host Pastor Mark Caldwell shared words of welcome and voiced the opening prayer for the service. Pastor Ben Furman from Johnson FCOG led worship and Bro Mike Harmon from East Fork COG, assisted on the piano. The Townsemen Quartet blessed our hearts in song both in the Pre- Service and Worship Service. Pastor Ben Jordan from Fountain Park FCOG shared a wonderful message with us. The offertory prayer was given by Pastor Bush Stevenson from Midland FCOG. Ann Walton from Morehead FCOG sang the offertory Song. The Rally concluded with East District Chairman Jeff Justice, presenting Pastor Ben and Torrie Furman with a Certificate of Appreciation and a gift card, to honor them, for their faithful years of service. They have served the Johnson FCOG for the past 25 years. We would like to thank Pastor Mark Caldwell and the Mud Lick Congregation for hosting this service and for the delicious food they prepared for our fellowship time. The next Rally will be held on September 18 at the West Bend FCOG in Powell County. The speaker will be Pastor Glyndon Woosley and special singing will be the gospel group Godsent. Pastor James Combs and the West Bend FCOG congregation would like to invite everyone to attend this special service. Hope to meet you there. Bro. Jeff East District

August 2016 East District Rally Report

The Ministry of the Ky. East District of the Church of God recently celebrated a milestone. The first Rally was held on August 9, 2006 at Stanton FCOG. As I stood behind the pulpit at Mud Lick FCOG on that evening of August 21 to wel-come everyone, my mind went back ten years to our first Rally meeting. The Lord has truly blessed this ministry. To see how God used this Rally to celebrate our 10

th year anniversary with 29 congregations coming together from all across the

East District to worship together was wonderful. Host Pastor Mark Caldwell shared words of welcome and voiced the opening prayer for the service. Pastor Ben Furman from Johnson FCOG led worship and Bro Mike Harmon from East Fork COG, assisted on the piano. Brothers and sisters in Christ, This month I just want to remind us of what

life is all about. My life is not over by far, but I’ve learned some things along

the way. The most important thing I’ve learned is God’s way is the only way.

That brings me to these thoughts found in Ephesian 3:14-21. “For this reason

I bow my knees to the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, from whom the whole family in heaven and

earth is named, that He would grant you, according to the riches of His glory, to be strengthened

with might through His Spirit in the inner man, that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith;

that you, being rooted and grounded in love, may be able to comprehend with all the saints what is

the width and length and depth and height— to know the love of Christ which passes knowledge;

that you may be filled with all the fullness of God. Now to Him who is able to do exceedingly

abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us, to Him be glory

in the church by Christ Jesus to all generations, forever and ever. Amen.” Let’s bow our knees to

God and PRAY FOR ONE ANOTHER. What do we pray for? To be strengthened with His Spirit to

do the will of God in our lives. Also to pray that we love as He loved and to better understand His

love towards us, so we can share it with others. There is no love wider, longer, deep or higher then

God’s love. We need to KNOW He love us no matter what. Then finally, let us always remember

that HE IS ABLE to do all things that we ask or think. But wait, He’s able to do even MORE than

that, because His thoughts are above our thoughts, and His ways are above our ways. Our GOD IS

ABLE. So no matter where you find yourself in life, on the mountain, in the valley or somewhere in

between God is our strength and refuge a very present help in trouble. May God bless you in your

journey and His glory shine in your life.

Your brother in ministry,

Terry Frerichs Vice Chairman of the East District
