The University of Oregon is
in Eugene, two hours south of
Portland by car on I-5 (interstate
Highway 5).
From Eugene Airport to campus the distance is 10-12 miles, takes 20 minutes, and cab rides cost $25-28:

The conference site is the newly-renovated Erb Memorial Union (EMU) in the
center of campus. From Phoenix Inn, walk south on Alder St., then east on East
13th (you’ll pass a Starbucks along the way). The EMU is on the corner of
University St. and E. 13th.
West side of campus:

The Living-Learning Center (LLC) dorms are a 2-minute walk to the EMU. Go
north on Agate St. to find restaurants along Franklin Boulevard.

The Keynote address and subsequent lectures are in the Redwood Auditorium. The speakers will meet for a working lunch 1 level below, in Diamond Lake:

North of East 15th Avenue:

East of Matthew Knight Arena, near hotels along Franklin Blvd., several casual restaurants are located plus a drug store. The Wild Duck Café is good but overpriced. The Market of Choice grocery has a deli counter, fresh sandwiches and soups, and a few booths and tables for eating inside.
