    Introduction

What is tithe? This is the only aspect in the Bible whereGod asks us to prove whether or not He is faithful. Tithingstated with Abraham. (Gen.14:19).Some people see tithing as giving or as Gods way ofcollecting their gross income in order to keep the templepriests (or pastor) happy. Tithing is more than all that. It is

an agreement that your business (or your life) is God andSons Ltd.It is a door.A tithe is 10% of your gross income. Somebody likened it toRent!

Where do you pay your tithe to? Your tithe is meant to bepaid to the local assembly where you worship.

Gods design. What God had in mind when He asks us topay our it is for our tithe to be:

    a. The key that opens the heavens to releaseunquantifiable blessing

    b. A strong defence against every devourerc. A covenant connectord. The weapon against miscarriagee. The link to uncommon favour

Who should tithe? As long as you are alive, God expects you to pay tithes.

Topic: Fire on my Altar (1)Memory Verse: Matt.3:11Text: 1 Kings 18:30-39

IntroductionIn Old Testament days, sacrifices to God were always doneon altars. It was a place where the love & mercy of Godmet the sins of man. It was a place where relationships withGod were made, covenants established, promises madeand mercy released.

The Altar is the meeting point of God and man.(Gen.28:15-18). It is a place where relationship with God isenthroned. The Fire is the symbol of Gods presence.(Matt.311, Exod.13:21-22)

DiscussionWhat is fire for? What would happen if there were no fire?

Why Fire?1. There is a war going on the war between the flesh

    and the spirit. (Gal. 5:17-18)

    2. To stand out in life and destiny, free of errors, I needthe fire. To stand out for God, I must have the fire.

    3. A cold altar is a diseased condition.

    4. Fire refines. Fire purifies. It tests. It burns.Prov.6:27.The clothes is his flesh. Traces of lying, pride, arrogance, show off, love of respect, lust toname a few are like green fat flies that settle on acold altar. Remember Eccl. 10:1.These flies cantland on an altar ablaze.

    Topic: Tithe (2)Memory Verse: Mal.3:10Text: Gen.14:18-20

Last Week, we started on the issue of tithes, what it isand what God wants to use it in our lives for. A lot ofbelievers are faithful in tithing, and yet complain of notbeing blessed.

Discuss: Is this true? What could cause it?

The tithe is much more than money. It is about obedienceto Gods word. It is about enjoying open heaven. Notpaying tithe = close the heaven

AllGod asks for the tithe of all.

    i. Gen.14:20ii. Lev.27:30iii. Deut.26:12

This is the same in almost all scripture where tithing is

commanded. Even Jacob, the swindler, agreed. Gen.28:22.It is a tithe of ALL. Your tithe is 10% of your gross income:salaries, bonuses, dividends, a dash, a gift, a grant, profit. Ifit is yours, your tithe is before your tax. (God comes beforegovernment, even in the dictionary)

If you are in business however, you dont tithe a loan, orthe capital. You tithe the increase, the profit.

    Topic: Tithe (3)Memory Verse: Mal.3:10Text: Mal.3:6-12; Deut.26:1-11

When you tithe in faith, certain things will happen.Enumerate them (Mal.3:6-12)Many however have missed these because they have notbeen tithing with purpose. Most do it casually, if notcarelessly. Please dont. Not anymore. Treat it as special. Itis a pillar of Gods covenant.

When you pay your tithe, you should do it with clearpurpose, deliberately, as in Deut.26.1-11.

    1. Use it to connect to all the blessing above (as inMalachi) and much more.

    2. Come forward and present yourself before the Lord.3. While there, pray, using your tithe to connect to the

covenant and the blessings of that God guarantees.4. The presiding minister then commands the blessing

of God upon your life and rebukes every devourer.5. Keep confessing those blessings as yours

Never anymore treat your tithe as casual. God does not.Dont borrow, or use your tithe. This is usually a trick ofthe enemy to steal something from you. Walk in obedienceand experience Gods faithfulness. HE says, Try me

    Introduction

All those who have ever walked with God have viewedprayer as the main business of their lives. Jesus breathedprayer (Mk.1:35) John Wesley said, God does nothing, butin answer to prayer. Prayer is like doing research. Realprayer is also something we learn. Lk.11:1. Prayer is a God-given means for us to:

    A. have a more intimate relationship with HimB. Receive His blessingsC. Minister to othersD. Receive His participation in lifes affairsE. Influence the course of history

Discussion: Why is it sometimesdifficult/unattractive to pray?

1Cor.3:9. We are working together with God to determinethe outcome of events. Real prayer causes you to Act.

James 2:17-20. Prayer provokes action. Or reaction. In prayer, we receive a clear revelation of what to do. Inprayer, our thoughts align with Gods. We see things fro Hisperspective.

MV: Topic: Less Me (2)Text: John 3:22 -35Memory Verse: John 3:30

IntroductionLast week, we saw that we are filled at each point in time

with something. Or someone. We also discussed what Godwants us to be filled with.

To be filled with something, means a particular contentneeds to be evacuated. Something must go out beforesomething can come in. Something has to reduce beforesomething can increase.

As Christs disciples, you must get to a point in our walk

with God where someone has to decrease in your life: YOU!

Case Studies1. John the Baptist was active in Gods work. But he came to apoint when he knew he had to decrease. (John 3:30)2. Jesus Christ, Gods own Son came to that point too. Luke22:41-44, John 12:243. Abraham, in his walk with God, had that same encounter.Gen.22:2,6. He had to die to his natural self-preservationinstincts. He had to let go, and let God.4. Job came to that point too, and he confessed, though he slayme... Job 13:15a5. Paul, paints his own experience clearly in 1Cor.15:31

God gives His Spirit (& power) without measure. John 3:34.But the more of Him you want, the less of you there mustbe. More Him=Less you. More you=Less Him

What then do we do? (Exod 3:10a)1. Humility2. Holiness. Hed 12:14
