She is also pursuing a minor in harpsichord with Webb Wiggins. A native of Lee Center, New York, a village near Syracuse, she began studying piano at age four. When she was a freshman in high school, she was appointed organist at St. Joseph’s Roman Catholic Church and started her study of organ with Stephen Best. She has been the piano accompanist for many concerts and shows in her hometown area. She has also studied with Jack Mitchener, Marie-Louise Langlais, and Jonathan Moyer. Oberlin was her first choice in colleges, and she welcomes the opportunities that conservatory training offers. She has recently won the 1 st place award in the Buffalo, NY AGO Quimby chapter level competition and in July, attended the McGill Summer Organ Montreal, Canada. All of the information about the tour is also on our website: agobuffalo.org. There is still time to register for the tour, but you are advised to do it soon because the bus is already half full. The DEADLINE FOR REGISTRATION IS SEPTEMBER 16. [Registration form is on p.3] We hope you will join us for this time to enjoy leaving the driving to someone else and traveling with colleagues, beautiful scenery, visiting two interesting pipe organs in Wyoming County, lunch at the Glen Iris Inn in Letchworth State Park, and viewing the “Grand Canyon of the East” . . . all for just $20.00. Non-Guild members may join us for $30.00, and Guild members may bring one guest at the AGO member rate. The bus will leave University Presbyterian Church (Niagara Falls Blvd. & Main St.) at 8:30 AM and will pick up southtowners at Baker United Methodist Church in East Aurora at 9:00 AM. COMING EVENT Our next event will be an Organ Recital by Nathan Laube -–

Friday, November 1 at 7:30 PM –– on the Fisk organ in Slee Concert Hall. This is a recital that you should make every effort to attend. Nathan Laube is considered to be among the greatest of young organists of today, and we are very fortunate to have been able to schedule him to perform in W.N.Y. He has something like seventy scheduled performances this year. So put this date on your calendar now so you will be sure to reserve the date. There will be lots more about this exciting performer in the November Bombarde. NEXT BOARD MEETING

The next board meeting will be on September 15 following the recital at St. Joseph Cathedral. Dean, Christina Shrewsburiy writes, “we want to get off to a solid start, so ‘participate and succeed’ and support your AGO chapter by being present on the 15th.” Please remember that if you are an Executive Committee member you are expected to attend these meetings.
