RECOVI Achievements
Year : 2016
Activities carried out in 2016
The first activity was to take part in community development activities, province
Muramvya. 15 young unemployed members of RECOVI made up tiles. This was
thier own project to help them sharping with wrongdoers and unemployment.
Second Activity in 2016
In Bujumbura Rural , RECOVI brought its material and moral support to 30 victims -
children including orphans, street children and war victims. School material, educational
and social support had been offered to help them prepare the future school attendance.
Third Activity - 2016
RECOVI also took part weekly in community development activities.
Those ones were held in Muramvya, where members participated in
construction of the football stadium, road assessment, etc.

Third activity: Training RECOVI members about the Community Savings and
Internal Credit (CECI) can provide for their needs and those of their family
Community Savings and Internal Credit (CECI) can provide life change and improve familyprosperity. This was the main purposee which pushed RECOVE to organize a specific trainingfor its members before involving community based of Maramvya so as to help themenhancing their needs and those of their families.

Along with the Mental development of every person, physical
development is also which needs to be taken into consideration. Sports
is an important part of a student’s life as well. Games and Sports are an
important and essential part of a person's life. Along with the study,
Games, and Sports are also important.
Next (Gatumba)
Sports is a good exercise which makes physically strong and increases stamina andstrength. Regular sports activities make a person active and lead to good Health. Sportmake a mental awake and increases its concentration power. Various Games needsgood strategies for better performance and teamwork, so it increases thinking abilityand teaches the power of teamwork and to find a way out of difficult situations.
Sixth Activity: Sharing meal at Chrismas day
Social inclusion strategy of RECOVI improves the terms for
Muramvya Children to take part in the party happily. The RECOVI
aim was to empower those poor and marginalized children to take
advantage of sharing with others meals and rejoicing.
Seventh Activity: RECOVI celebrate the end of the year 2017
with its beneficiaries by giving them rice to share with their family.
Next: All children derseve love and affection, this is why
RECOVI put emphases on social inclusion of children.

Year : 2018
First Activity: Easter festivities for child orphans and
widows of the MUTIMBUZI Commune
Easter festivities were organized for child orphans and widows on Sunday, 1 April 2018 at
Maramvya. Among special Guests who responded the rendezvous, the delegations of
Association des Pioniers de Kanyaru pour le Development (APKD) and Gira Ico Ukoze Ukiri
Muzima (GIUU). The RECOVI chairman briefed the assembly their achievements since
2015, a total of more than 100 families and 150 children supported.
Second Activity: Taking part in international Gun Destruction Day -6 July of every year.
Providing education about the Consequences of Illegal Guns in theCommunities in MUTIMBUZI CommuneIn order to contribute to make our world better, RECOVI organized campaigns inwar affected areas in the Bujumbura Province. The aim was to contributeeffectively in fighting against gun violence. In those campaigns governmentofficials both from Burundi and the Democratic Republic of the Congo, as well asthe community members joined their efforts with us. The slogan day of RECOVIwas “Say No to Gun Violence!”
Third Activity: 16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based
Violence Campaign
RECOVI brought its contribution in organizing campaign against issues related to
violence against women . During that campaign, we explained to communities how it
affects women across her different types of work–both in the formal and informal dearly
life sectors. The work has been well welcomed by women and girls.
Fourth Activity: Environmental Protection
On November 3 of 2018, in collaboration with ODEDU (Objective for Sustainable Development Burundi), RECOVI helped to plant trees along a large ravine that had been damaged by erosion
Fifth Activity: Leadership Training
On 2 of November 2018, RECOVI carried out training, Workshop and
Capacity Building of RECOVI staff. The training focused on the
leadership theme: "A Leader is known by how many people he
serves, and not by how many people serve him.”
Responding in trainingRECOVI was chosen from many associations in Burundi to participate in a
training workshop with the theme: "Design and Management of
Development Projects" organized by the international NGO GLOBE GREEN.
After two days of training, RECOVI Program Coordinator KWIZERA Samuel
received a certificate.
Sixth Activity: Promotion of entrepreneurial initiatives among the unemployed
From the starting of 2018, RECOVI is working in the Maramvya zone and Kanyoshato raise awareness in the households of this locality in loan and savings credit.groups This action is part of helping the population to fight against poverty andunemployment. As results, members of the Community Savings and Internal Credit(CECI) can provide for their needs and those oft heir family.
Seventh Activity: Distribution of school materials
RECOVI distributed school materials to 70 child orphans in the Kiganda
Commune of Muramvya Province in the presence of government officials and the security chief of Kiganda commune.
Eighth Activity : Social Support for Orphans in
Bubanza Province
Bubanza is a war-affected province of Burundi in which many children have
been left orphaned, traumatized, and homeless. Many don’t have hope for
their future. RECOVI is assisting 80 children orphans in Bubanza. RECOVI
still has convictions that every child has the right to grow up free from fear and from violence to enjoy his full potential in life.
Nineth Activity: International Day of Peace
September 21 -201, at 70th Anniversary of the
Universal Declaration of Human Rights. To mark
that Day, RECOVI heeded this call and placed
particular focus on the Article 3 of the
declaration which states : “everyone has the
right to life, liberty, and security of person”.
RECOVI noted that gun violence undermines
these rights. Furthermore, RECOVI used this
important occasion to highlight Sustainable
Development Goal 16.4, which seeks to
significantly reduce illicit arms flows by 2030.
New year End Celebration
During 2018,800 people including children orphans and young unemployed received training
on savings and credit. This action is apart of helping the population to fight against poverty
and unemployment. As a result, members of community savings and internal Credit (CECI)
can provide for their needs and those of their families. RECOVI launched an end-of-the-year
celebration of this achievement and distributed certificates of encouragement to honor their courage and dedication to the association

This wascerebrated in the way of preventingthe violence perpetrated by the proliferationof small arms.
Hygiene and Sanitation Day in Bujumbura town.These activities werecelebrated in collaboration withother local NGOs in the way of improvingthe cleaness of Bujumbura town and the beach of Tanganyika (May,2019)

16 Days of Activism Against Gender Based Violence
December 5, 2019 on the theme “Sexual
Violence perpetrated by Armed Intimidation is an Endless Plague,
Let’s Break the Silence”, RECOVI has
again organized awareness-raising
campaigns on GBV and sexual violence
perpetrated by armed intimidation with the
collaboration of Community OutrreachBurundi (COB), a local
organization.The event involved 300
participants (student representatives)
including one police station officer), local
leaders and representatives of
local women’s associations.
