What is a Recovery-Oriented System of Care (ROSC)?

Provides a menu of prevention, treatment and support services that can be combined in

different ways to meet the person in recovery’s specific needs and chosen pathway

to long-term recovery

1. Promotes bringing everyone to the table and mobilizing the community as a resource for healing

2. Facilitates family and other ally inclusion in treatment and recovery

3. Facilitates a culture of peer support and leadership

5. Provides holistic, individualized, person directed treatment, which supports multiple pathways to recovery – integrated services across the lifespan – continuity of care

Transformation Process

• Conceptual Alignment – All of the players need to be on the same page and agree on principles/goals.

• Practice Alignment – Changing the way our system responds to persons in recovery, e.g., intervention, treatment, and recovery.

• Contextual Alignment – Changing administrative and funding mechanisms.
