Newsletter Beginning in January 2017, the SCS newsletter will be mailed on a quarterly basis. It will be mailed or e-mailed to members in January, April, July and October. If we don’t have your e-mail or you’ve recently moved, please contact the office with the updated information. Members can always check the web site for updated program and class information at www.scslima.com. Toys for Tots The Toys for Tots barrels will be in the aquatic and main lobby from the first week in November-December 8th. Please bring a new, unwrapped toy and place it in the barrel. Help the Salvation Army make Christmas bright for area children. Weather If the center is delayed in opening or closed due to bad weather, please watch WLIO TV (NBC) or check their web site, hometownstations.com for information. Annual Campaign
The Annual Campaign is doing well! To date $7,300.00 has been donated. We use the donations for equipment, supplies and programs. Deposits need to be made to hold your place on the list for each trip. Seats are limited so get your name and deposit into the business office. Brochures with itineraries for overnight trips are available in the business office. Price may include: bus, baggage handling, and admissions to most activities, breakfasts, suppers, taxes and gratuities. Trip Policy SCS, Inc. reserves the right to cancel a trip/event due to lack of ticket sales. In the event of a cancellation payment will be refunded. No refunds will be given after the trip/event cut-off date (when SCS, Inc. has paid the tour/event provider). Cancellations after the payment deadline will not be refunded unless the seat is sold to another person. Trip insurance is available (ROUNDTRIP) through Nationwide Mutual Insurance Company.

We will then board a Carnival Caribbean cruise ship for a 4 night cruise to the Bahamas Visit the headquarters of the New World of Coca Cola and then to Cleveland, Georgia to visit one of Travel Channel’s top ten Toylands, “Babyland General Hospital.” LaComedia “Sister Act” April 27, 2017 Members $75, Non-members $90 A feel good musical comedy! Mystery Trip June 12, 2017 Members $135, Non-members $150 Riddle me that, riddle me this! Get your name in early, so you don’t miss! Monticello/Jamestown/Williamsburg Nov. 30-Dec. 5, 2017 Members $1,169, Non-members $1,199 Meet Thomas Jefferson at his home, Monticello, for a tour. Then to Williamsburg and visit Governor’s Palace, the Capitol, lunch at King’s Arm Tavern. See the Grand Illumination with fireworks. Travel to Jamestown, enjoy the 17th century of Virginia. Off to Yorktown, a riverfront treasure. Visit Frank Lloyd Wright’s Falling Water home in PA on our return. The workshop will focus on using holiday
scented essential oils (frankincense,
myrrh, gold, balsam fir, peppermint, etc.)
that are very supportive and nurturing for
the face and body. Participants will
make a facial scrub and a roll-on that can
be used as a perfume, relief for sore
achy joints or to open up sinuses. All
ingredients and containers will be pro-
vided. Cost $25/per person.

Program Headlines Computer Class The next computer class will be held in January 2017. Mahjong If anyone is interested in playing “Mahjong” please call Jacki in the business office. Swedish Weaving Weaving class will meet on November 16 @ 2:30pm in Classroom 2. Election Day Please be careful when coming in and out of the east entrance to the building on Election day, Tuesday, November 8th. Even thought there are speed bumps and a marked crosswalk, voters may be in a hurry and not focused on SCS pedestrians.

November Specials Aquathon Saturday, November 12 @ 9:00-11:30 am Participate or donate and help us raise funds for the Veteran’s Food Pantry. Food donations are also welcome in the barrel by the pool door. A variety of instructors and types of aquatic exercise make this Aquathon interesting and fun! All ages are welcome. Please see enclosed flyer for more information. Note that the pool will be available only to Aquathon participants November 12th. Holiday Blend Wednesday, November 16 @ 1:00-4:00 pm Participate in two completely different work-shops of special interest to women; “Damsel in Defense” and Holiday Aromatic Skincare Make It/Take It”. Cost for the “Holiday Aromatic” is $25.00. Each workshop will be offered twice during the afternoon. You may choose to go to “Damsel” first from 1-2:30 pm and the “Holiday Aromatic” from 2:30-4:00pm or vice versa. Enjoy some holiday refreshments during the event.
