A MESSAGE FROM MEREDITH
It is hard to believe that we are already looking to fall again. As much as I love the changing of the leaves, the pumpkins, the cider, this year fall has a whole new meaning to me. At the end of October I will be celebrating my one year wedding anniversary! It feels like just yesterday I was putting on the finishing touches to the perfect day and now here we are, almost a year later. This reminds me of a quote by C.S. Lewis, “Isn’t it funny how day by day nothing changes, but when you look back everything is different?” It’s easy to get into our everyday routine and think that life is stagnant, but when we take the time to look back and reflect, that is when we see how far we’ve really come. Please make sure that you check out our very first Scavenger Hunt at South Central Park on Friday, September 20 and all of the other activities that we have planned for you this fall! I am looking forward to watching the leaves change with you, see you around! Meredith
Have you checked out the Westshore Seniors? Website: www.westshoreseniors.org
Eight Westshore senior centers (including North Ridgeville) have joined forces creating a “one-stop” website for seniors. This provides the platform for future services as senior centers evolve and continue to meet the needs of our aging
population. We welcome you to explore this innovative and informative website at: www.westshoreseniors.org There you will find listings of activities and services
that are provided at other centers!

GREETINGS FROM MAYOR DAVE
Our Office for Older Adults offers a wide variety of activities and programs that I hope you are taking full advantage! In addition to these offerings, our Fire Department and Parks & Recreation Department will be sponsoring several events that you may be interested in attending. I’ve highlighted a few of them below:
Spookville at South Central Park on October 4th and 5
th from 6-9 PM. This
event is sponsored by the North Ridgeville Lions Club and is appropriate for all ages. It’s a wooded ¼-mile trail that makes you feel like you are part of a horror movie set in the woods. The cost is $2 per person and non-perishable food items will be collected to help benefit Community Care.
FallFest at South Central Park on October 5th from 4-6 PM. This is a free
event where families will experience fun games, food vendors, face and pumpkin painting, balloon animals, pumpkin bowling, photo booth and hay rides (weather permitting).
Annual Health & Safety Fair at Fire Station #1, 7000 Ranger Way, from 10 AM-2 PM on October 5
th. This is a free family-friendly event with tips on
fire safety and healthy living and tours of the new fire station. There will be entertainment for kids including a bounce house, fire safety trailer and Kasey the Fire and Life Safety Dog show. Weather permitting; an emergency helicopter will land for tours.
As a reminder, special leaf collection will take place from October 29 through November 26. Leaves may be placed at the curb in plastic bags on weekly regular trash collection days. After November 26, leaves in plastic bags can only be left out as extra trash during bulk pick-up. From April through October, yard waste must be placed in brown yard waste bags for weekly collection. To learn more about current and upcoming city projects, ask a question or just hear what fellow residents are asking, please join me at one of my upcoming coffee and conversation –Thursday, September 5; Tuesday, October 8; and, Monday, November 4 from 8-9 AM at City Hall in Council Chambers. If you are unable to attend and have questions, please don’t hesitate to call my office at (440) 353-0811. Mayor Dave
