INTRODUCTION

Use of concrete is goes on increasing rapidly

Need to use cement replacing material to save environment.

Supplementary materials used enhance concrete properties.

Research work

The objectives of this research work are to study: the properties of Industrial wastes and their suitability in high performance concrete.

properties of concrete in fresh and hardened state.

the effect of GGBS and silica fume on workability of concrete.

the structural behavior of high performance concrete with industrial wastes.

GGBS-(Ground granulated blast-furnace slag)

blast furnace slag is the non-metallic by-product, consisting of silicates and alumino-silicates of lime and of other bases, that is developed simultaneously with iron in the blast furnace

Engineering properties of GGBS

•Workability- no slump loss in hot whether •Heat of hydration•Sulfate resistance•Compressive strength & strength development •Tensile strength •Elastic modulus

SILICA FUME

The terms silica fume or microsilica, are often used to describe the by-products extracted from the exhaust gases of silicon, ferrosilicon and other metal alloy smelting furnaces.

Engineering properties Silica fume

•Workability-•Shrinkage is more•Compressive strength & strength development •Tensile strength •Elastic modulus• It reduce permeability
