Semiahmoo may look a little different on your visit, so we’ve created this guide to help you navigate the new changes at your favorite seaside resort. This will serve as your short and sweet go-to guide for all the things to see and do at Semiahmoo! Columbia Clean Protocols

• Utilizing highly effective and sustainable Ecolab cleaning products to clean and disinfect throughout the properties.• Utilizing training and procedures as recom-mended by Ecolab and the CDC.• Increasing the frequency and intensity of cleaning and disinfecting high-touch, high-traf-fic areas, such as light switches, door handles, remotes, elevator buttons, thermostats, and more.• Enhancing cleaning and sanitation stan-dards throughout guestrooms, event spaces, common areas, heart-of-house spaces and more.• Implementing physical distancing layouts, markers, and signage in common areas, meet-ing and event spaces, and amenities.• De-cluttering paper and other amenities, such as pen, paper, directories, magazines, etc. and supplementing with digital options or providing amenities upon request.• Increasing the number of customer-acces-sible sanitizing stations at primary entrances and high-traffic locations like elevators and lobbies.• Implementing innovative clean technolo-gies, such as modern electrostatic sprayers to sanitize surfaces and objects.• Implementing low and no-touch golf ex-periences, including the elimination of shared water stations, ball washers, bunker rakes, and more.• Launching Columbia Clean Teams; team members thoroughly trained on health, hygiene, safety and sanitization standards and responsible for upholding these standards.

The well-being and health of our guests and team members is at the heart of everything we do here at Semiahmoo. In light of COVID-19, we’ve dedicated our focus on health and safety even further. And we’ve never been more thankful for our remote location and vast 80-acre seaside grounds with plenty of wide-open spaces, so you can breathe in some fresh PNW air while safely social distancing.

Through our management company, Columbia Hospitality, we’ve partnered with Ecolab, a global leader in infection prevention, to take our already stringent safety and sanitation protocols to the next level through the Columbia Clean program. Columbia Clean is an elevated set of health, hygiene, safety and sanitation standards developed in response to the COVID-19 pandemic to create a cleaner, safer environment for our guests.

Fast Facts

HousekeepingWe want to ensure your stay is as comfortable as possible, while thinking first and foremost of your safety. Housekeeping service during your stay will be upon request only. Please contact the front desk if you’d like fresh towels and linens, and our team will drop a package off outside your room to minimize contact.

The BeachWe love our beach and want to keep it pristine for years to come! Please leave the beach cleaner than you found it, admire wildlife from afar, explore tide pools with care, take only memories, and leave only footprints.

PetsWe welcome your furry family members with open arms at Semiahmoo. Dogs are allowed most places on property, except the pool and inside restaurants or where otherwise marked. Please clean up after your dogs, and keep them leashed at all times. Dog-friendly rooms are based on availability and located on the first floor with easy access to outside. Pet fee applies.

Signature Activities

Beach BonfiresLight a fire for the perfect end to your beach day. Roast s’mores and watch the sun set over the water around the bonfire. Visit the front desk to pick up your complimentary s’mores kit, we’ll even build the fire for you!

Please note that beach bonfires are weather dependent. BirdwatchingSeek out bald eagles, Blue Herons, and a plethora of other birds and wildlife on a self-guided bird watching excursion.

Fun & Games Get outside and strike up a game of horse-shoes, corn hole, or ladder ball on the lawn. Or cozy up inside with a board game or book in the Library or by the fire. Please visit the front desk to check out games and equipment – we thoroughly sanitize all equipment after use.

Beach Activities Center Summer at Semiahmoo is all about the beach. The Beach Activities Center is your one-stop shop for outdoor recreation. Rent equipment including bikes, kayaks, and paddle boards so you can explore the beautiful Pacific North-west by land or sea.

The Beach Activities Center is open daily by reservation only from 10:30 am – 6:00 pm. Call 360.318.2000 to make your reservation.

HistoryThis beautiful area was originally inhabited by a band of Native Americans known as the Semiahmoo. There are different interpreta-tions as to what the word “Semiahmoo” means. According to Chief James “Jimmy” Charles, chief of the Semiahmoo, the word means “half-moon,” and describes the shape of Semiahmoo Bay. But White Rock, B.C. historian Lorraine Ellenwood writes that “it translates, in one sense, as ‘water all around’ or ‘hole in the sky’”. Either way, we think Semiahmoo is spectacular. Winemaker Dinner Series We are bringing a new look to our Winemaker Dinner Series this summer. Inspired by our Semiahmoo Seaside Cooking video series, Chef Devin will now be cooking each course live right in front of you, walking you through the tech-niques and wine pairings as he crafts a beautiful meal. Part cooking class, part dining experience, these interactive dinners will immerse you in food and wine culture and knowledge.

Each dinner features a different winery, who we work with to thoughtfully craft the menu, complete appetizers upon arrival, multiple delectable courses, and wine to pair with every course. Tables will be set up on our beautiful patio overlooking the bay with plenty of space to enjoy with peace of mind.

The Spa at Semiahmoo The Spa at Semiahmoo is the ultimate wellness retreat for body, mind, and spirit. With a robust wellness and recreation center, along with highly skilled spa and salon technicians, The Spa provides everything you need for some well-deserved restorative time. We are passionate about wellness, and now more than ever we are reworking our offerings to ensure the safety of our guests and team members.

Health Club Don’t miss a day. At Semiahmoo, it’s easy to sneak in a workout at our full-service health club. Take a fitness class, do your cardio, lift weights, and even run a few miles on our indoor running track. Then reward yourself in the sauna or steam room. Our health club layout has been adjusted to ensure physical distancing can be practiced between machines and stations.

Designed by Arnold Palmer and open year-round, this 7,005-yard, tree-lined masterpiece allows golfers to relax and enjoy nature at its best. Practice facilities include a driving range, putting and chipping greens, and practice bun-kers. SGCC has implemented specific safety protocols so you can enjoy a day on the course worry-free.
