In the early 2000s in Australia a small group of Christians who knew Fr John Naumann commenced raising funds in support of Fr John’s endeavours in regional Tanzania and called themselves, Hearts for Africa. Today the Hearts for Africa (Amani) Foundation is a registered charity and a partner for project J783 with Global Development Group, an Australian approved Non-Government Organisation overseeing quality humanitarian projects.

2002: Fr John founded the Amani Development
Organisation in Makang’wa Village, Dodoma Region,
Tanzania.
