“Sometimes it just seems to be too much”
T. Loader
Sometimes, Lord, it just seems to be too much:
Too much violence, too much fear; Too much of demands and problems;
Too much of broken dreams and broken lives;
…Sometimes the very air seems scorched
By threats and rejection and decay Until there’s nothing
But to inhale pain And to exhale confusion.
Too much darkness, Lord,
Too much cruelty and selfishness
and indifference Too much, Lord,
…Or is it too little,
Too little of compassion, Too little of courage,
Of daring, Of persistence, Of sacrifice…?
O God, make of me some nourishment
For these starved times, Some food for my brothers and sisters
Who are hungry for gladness and hope, That, being bread for them,
I may also be fed and be full.
Amen.
Christian Education
Zoom Sunday School for elementary students is continuing. It is so much fun to connect and learn. If you would like to be a participant or teacher please contact the church. We’ve been able to do lots of activities! Montreat high school and middle school conferences will not take place. There are several options related to thinking ahead to next year. Cindy Doyle has surveyed families concerning what our youth offerings should look like. If you have feedback please contact her through our church office. We are working on possible plans with CedarKirk to hold an outdoor Sunday School/ Rally Day/VBS/ Family Retreat event. You’ll be hearing more as soon as any details can be worked out!
Even with COVID-19, Mission is still happening in our LITTLE CHURCH WITH A BIG HEART, thanks to many people: • We have given out over 50 Homeless Blessing
Bags in the last 3 months. There are more Blessing Bags now available on the benches in the courtyard.
• This past month we have given Beth-El over
200 books to be given out as families pick up food.
• In June we collected over 60 bras for Free The
Girls program. Our goal is 100 bras, so we will continue to collect the bras until our goal is met. Please donate new or gently used bras, which will bring an income for families that once were supported by human trafficking.
• In July, we will again be Socking it to Beth
El. We hope to collect 800 or more pairs of socks for school children at Beth El Farm Ministry. Before school each child is given a new pair of shoes, and we would like for them to have several pairs of new socks as well. You may bring socks to the fellowship hall on Wednesday morning where there are baskets by the front door, or you may place them on the benches in the courtyard any other time.
• In August we are hoping to have a Silent
Auction for Family Promise. We will have overflowing baskets for gardeners, bakers, honey doers, dog and cat lovers, artists, read-ers, and those who want to relax. Look for more information in August.
Thank you for making our church continue to be the
Little Church With A Big Heart.
MISSION HAPPENINGS!
CONGREGATIONAL CARE
Things are a little more challenging these days with the social distancing and the limited reopening of some establishments. It’s hard to know what to do sometimes. “Should I stay or should I go?” probably runs through your mind. With so many questions beg-ging answers, here’s an answer that isn’t too hard to find... Your church is here for you! Please feel free to contact Congregational Care if you find yourself in need of anything. Rumor has it, we still have a small stash of toilet paper, should the need arise! We’re also looking for ideas!!!! If you have any ideas of safe, fun things you’re doing during this time of social distancing, please let us know! Call Carina at (813) 643-8864 and please leave a message. Thanks, again, to the many cooks and drivers in our congregation! You continue to bless our sisters and brothers with delicious meals when needed, and we thank you!
...for all the canned and dry goods you donated for E.C.H.O. (Emergency Care Help Organization)! In just one week, and while social distancing, our congregation collected 65 items to take to
E.C.H.O. to bless people in need. Thank you for making the special trip to the church to drop off your donations and for thinking of others during this difficult time. The love of Jesus shines through our congregation every day! —Olivia Reiter and Carina Brushwood
An Opportunity to Serve: Beth-el is in need of volunteers to sort food and make up bags of food on Mondays and Wednesday. They also need help distributing the food bags on Tuesdays. This is a great opportunity for Youth to get service hours! If you are interested, please contact Deb Thatcher at 813-240-1751 and leave a message.
CELEBRATE YOUR BIRTHDAY !
GIVE A FINANCIAL GIFT TO THE CHURCH
Make check payable to the Presbyterian Church of Seffner in the amount of your age. You are very special to all of us. Thank you for your generosity.

WORSHIP NEWS Pastor Loli and Worship staff have begun online worship services in our beautifully renovated fellowship hall. We hope you have been able to tune in and have been enjoying the services. Many thanks to all who have made our worship possible. Please pray for our task force who will be studying our safe return to worshipping together. Online services will continue for now at 11:00 am each Sunday.

Collecting Socks for
Bras - New and Gently Used
Our Re-Entry Task Force continues to prepare for the time when it is safer for us to worship in-person.
Please fill out the survey and submit it within the next 2 weeks. The rise in covid-19 cases in our area is disappointing and concerning because it impacts our timeline for worshipping in person, but we trust in God’s providential care and the Presbyterian Church of Seffner’s great capacity to love and care for one another.
Thank you and God bless!
