Download SEER for CATIAv5 x.x

Start exe

• After downloading and extracting the SEER-for-CATIAv5 X.X.ZIP contents

• As Administrator, run the setup exe to match OS i.e.

• Setup32-SEER for CATIAv5 X.X.exe for a 32bit operating system

• Setup64-SEER for CATIAv5 X.X.exe for a 64bit operating system


Start Installation

• SEER for CATIAv5 Package contents and versions are displayed

• Click Next


Auto Create Environment?

• Default = Yes. This works well for ‘Standard CATIAv5 installations’.

• Select No, for non-standard CATIAv5 configurations, and manually configure the SEER for CATIAv5 environment after files are installed


Compatible Versions of CATIA

• For Default Setup - This dialog will only be displayed if multiple compatible versions of CATIA v5 are installed


Enter CATIA v5 Release Number

• For Default Setup - If multiple compatible versions of CATIA v5 are installed, enter the version number you want to link to


Multiple Configurations

• For Default Setup - This dialog will only be displayed when multiple configurations are found


Enter Configuration Number

• For Default Setup - If there are multiple configurations, enter the configuration number to link to

• Use a configuration number that has a valid path


Choose Destination Folder

• Choose a destination folder for the SEER-for-CATIAv5 files

• Click Next to install files. For Default Setup – An Environment will Automatically be created. For Non Default setup, SEER-for-CATIAv5 files will be installed and an environment to CATIA will need to be configured by CATIA admin.


Finished

• For Default Setup - After installation, you should see the following dialog

• Click Finish and locate new Shortcut on your desktop


CATIAENV.exe

• After installation, if the SEER for CATIA Desktop Icon is not present, Admin may be required to use the CATIAENV.exe tool to manually create an environment.

• CATIAENV.exe is the tool used to link SEER for CATIAv5 to the chosen version of CATIAv5

• path for 64 bit CATIA

[catia installation path]\win_b64\code\bin\CATIAENV.exe

• path for 32 bit CATIA

[catia installation path]\intel_a\code\bin\CATIAENV.exe


SEER License Utility.exe

• After installation, run the SEER License Utility.exe file to install the license files,

• License files can also be copied to the following locations:

C:\ProgramData\SEER\SEER-SMCE x.x\License_SEER-SMCE.lic

C:\ProgramData\SEER\SEER-MCE x.x\License_SEER-MCE.lic

C:\ProgramData\SEER\SEER-PCE x.x\License_SEER-PCE.lic


CATIA Licenses/DS License Server

• CATIA licenses are stored either locally or on a server.

• After SEER for CATIAv5 installation, you may need to contact your CATIA admin for information about how to access the required license

• DSLicSrv.txt file may need to be Manually created, with the computer name and port of the Dassault license server

• Start CATIA from the newly created Desktop Shortcut, a new Tool Bar will appear in CATIA:

• Click the Required icon to start a new estimate

• Compatible files required Ply Cost Estimator and Sheet Metal Cost Estimator.

SEER Tools for CATIAv5 Tool Bar

Sheet metal Part must contain a ‘Web’ or

‘Wall’ feature

Composite Part must contain ply stacking

• The path to Manufacturing Environments can be configured in the settings.ini file.

• Public Document folders contain Configurable Manufacturing Environments, SEER Knowledge bases, and environment rules.

• Refer to ‘Help’ Document in CATIA interfaces on how to configure custom manufacturing environments.
