accelerometers; and test your strength in our amazing new Engineering Fundamentals Lab in Building 2.

BUSINESS AND LAW – KNOW YOUR TALENT STACK!

This is a hands-on session with real examples on how to “stack” your talents to position yourself for success! It also

works when trying to choose a course or major in the School of Business and Law!

MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES – HEALTH PROMOTION, NUTRITION AND OHS

How much sugar are you eating and drinking? Walk the line - simulating

alcohol. Healthy food option vs take-away. My favourite music is

hurting my ears? You’ll find all these activities in Building 6.

TEACHER EDUCATION – INFO SESSION

Ever wondered if becoming a teacher might be the right career

choice for you? ECU hosts the largest and most popular School of Education in Western Australia, so

our annual Teacher Education Course Information Session in Building 5 is the one-stop-shop for anyone

interested in a career as an educator.

MIND READING CAREER FINDER

Confused about what to study? Why not have a go at our always popular

interactive mind reader and see if you can predict your future career? This activity can be found in Building 6.

Receive and activate your Access All Areas lanyard and check in at our checkpoints for your chance to win.

STUDENT CONNECT

The Student Connect team is a specialist support service that delivers confidential assistance to help you tackle issues affecting your studies so you can have a positive experience at ECU. This includes:

• Supporting your study progress, health and wellbeing, and helping you create a positive support network

• Providing referrals to specialist support services within or outside ECU

• Investigating alternative study options

• Specialist support for international students.

CAREERS AND LEADERSHIP SERVICES

It’s never too early to start thinking about your career. ECU’s Careers and Leadership Services provide free, professional career advice and job search support to all current students and alumni.

STUDENT COUNSELLING AND EQUITY, DIVERSITY AND DISABILITY SERVICE

ECU offers a free and confidential service providing professional, short term counselling to students. Our counsellors have postgraduate qualifications, as well as skills and experience helping people with personal, psychological and study-related difficulties.

We also offer a free, confidential service for students with a permanent or temporary disability and/or medical condition which may affect their life at ECU. It also caters for students who are carers for a family member with a disability or medical condition.

STUDENT ACTIVITIES

Sport has always been an integral part of the student experience at ECU. It’s why we offer an exciting range of sport and recreation programs to engage our students.

There are many opportunities to represent your campus at local, regional or national competitions and events, including:

• Australian University Games• Western University Games• Indigenous Games.

LIBRARY FACILITIES

Our Bunbury Library will run guided library tours every hour at 12:00pm, 1:00pm and 2:00pm. The tour includes a visit to the Library’s collection, and facilities such as presentation and group study rooms and Library Commons. Tours last approximately 15 minutes. All tours start at the service counter in Building 3.

ECU was rated the maximum five-stars for teaching quality for the eleventh year in a row by the Good Universities Guide.

Graduates also rated ECU five stars for overall educational experience, skills development, student support and median graduate salary levels.

ECU was named in the Times Higher Education (THE) Young University Rankings for 2018.

Recognising the world’s 150 best universities less than 50 years of age, the rankings are a global showcase of a new breed of university.

For the second year in a row, ECU has been ranked the top public university in Australia for student experience in the QILT (Quality Indicators for Learning and Teaching) survey released in 2018.

Results showed 85.3% of students rated their educational experience at ECU positively. We were also the top public uni for teaching quality, skills development and student support.

back of this booklet as a guide.

STUDY AREA EXPO

The Study Area Expo is where you’ll find all the serious information. It’s a chance for you to speak one-on-one

to staff about your course/s of interest. You can quiz them on what it’s really

like to study a course at ECU.

Inside the Expo you’ll find staff from these schools: Arts & Humanities,

Business & Law, Education, Engineering, Medical & Health

Sciences, and Nursing & Midwifery.

The Future Students team is also located inside the Expo. They can

answer your questions about course admissions and entry pathways into ECU, plus provide more information

about ECU metro and online courses.

The Expo is located inside the Sports Hall in Building 10.

SOUTH WEST OPEN DAY ACTIVITIES

ECU VILLAGE STUDENT HOUSING

Campus Living Villages (CLV) is a global university accommodation supplier, specialising in exciting and supportive student residential experiences.

All three ECU campuses offer excellent student accommodation. It’s a great way to build a diverse network of friends from all over the world.

Applications for accommodation can be made at any time. Prices at all Villages include all fees, making it easy to budget for, and with no hidden surprises.

Note that on campus accommodation is limited and places fill up fast. Please

visit mystudentvillage.com to select your Village accommodation and complete an application.

At Open Day, CLV staff will conduct tours of the facilities every hour for about 30 mins. Meet at their stall by Building 3.

FOOD AND REFRESHMENTS

Overloaded with great course information and need a break to get you through? During the day, there’ll be a food trucks serving scrumptious food.

ASSISTANCE

If you need help at any time, please don’t hesitate to stop someone wearing an ECU branded T-shirt.

If First Aid service is required, please see St John First Aid services onsite at map reference B6.

If you’ve lost or found something, please talk to the staff at one of the information tents.

You’ll hear from our lecturing staff and current students and find out about all the courses ECU offers, both for school leavers, mature age students and even postgraduate options. A Question and Answer session at the end will give you the chance to approach our experts with your burning questions about life as a teacher.
