Zombies. Yep, The Walking Dead. [Spoiler Alert: Of course, there’s no such thing, and this was all strictly in fun.] Ninety runners and 25 zombies took part in the CLMS PTO’s second-annual Zombie Run Saturday, Oct. 22, at the school. The 5K race, mapped out enrely on Cedar Lee property, included 12 obstacles; runners had to run over hay bales, crawl through a tunnel, jump through res, slide through shaving cream and dish soap on tarps, Army crawl under yellow tape, and climb a hay bale wall. The main feature, of course, were the zombies and the four zombie staons which served as holding places for the zombies to hide while they paently waited for possible vicms to cross their paths. Every runner wore a flag belt symbolizing his or her life. Aſter the first round, runners were doused with zombie red powder so the zombies knew on the second round that the runners in red were now fair game – zombies were free to start pulling the life-flags. Zombies lurked at each obstacle and at the staons; their mission was to try and take all the lives from the runners by the end of the race. Fortunately many runners dodged the zombies and finished the race with flags intact. “The Zombie Run was a rousing success once again!” exclaimed Principal David Lee. “Everyone had a great me,” agreed PTO President Christa McDaniel, who expressed gratude to the run’s sponsors who collecvely enabled the PTO to raise over $3,700 at the event. school. The 5K race, mapped out entirely on Cedar Lee property, included 12 obstacles; runners had to run over hay bales, crawl through a tunnel, jump through tires, slide through shaving cream and dish soap on tarps, Army crawl under yellow tape, and climb a hay bale wall.

The main feature, of course, were the zombies and the four zombie stations which served as holding places for the zombies to hide while they patiently waited for possible victims to cross their paths.

Every runner wore a flag belt symbolizing his or her life. After the first round, runners were doused with zombie red powder so the zombies knew on the second round that the runners in red were now fair game – zombies were free to start pulling the life-flags. Zombies lurked at each obstacle and at the stations; their mission was to try and take all the lives from the runners by the end of the race. Fortunately many runners dodged the zombies and finished the race with flags intact.

“The Zombie Run was a rousing success once again!” exclaimed Principal David Lee.“Everyone had a great time,” agreed PTO President Christa McDaniel, who expressed gratitude to the run’s sponsors

who collectively enabled the PTO to raise over $3,700 at the event.
