• The transponder forwards the information to thecentral console.
• The central console displays the person’s or asset’sname, description or pertinent information, picture, and current location on a map.
• The transmitter sends a signal every seven seconds,so that the location of the alarm is constantly updatedand displayed at the central console.
Installation/Configuration Notes
The Security Escort System consists of five basiccomponents: transmitters, receivers, alert units, transponders, and the central console.
Transmitters Miniature radio transmitters that send distress, alarm, or test signals.
Receivers Devices placed throughout a protected area to de-tect the radio transmissions from transmitters. Re-ceives alarm information and relays it to the trans-ponder. Indoor receivers provide local soundersand visual test confirmation. Outdoor receivershave weather‑resistant enclosures.
Alert Units Output modules that activate third‑party signalingdevices, such as siren and strobe units, during analarm.
Transponders Devices that control groups of receivers and alertunits connected to them. Each transponder relaysalarm and test signals from the receivers to thecentral console. Transponders also test for deviceand wiring faults, and transmit problem conditionsto the central console.
Central Console A computer and an optional backup computer thatreceives alarm and trouble signals from the trans-ponders. Central console software controls systemoperation and houses databases. It also analyzesthe signals, activates strobes and sirens connectedto the alert units, and shows the security dispatch-er a display that includes the person’s or asset’s lo-cation and information during an alarm event.
