Second Life How‐To:

1‐ Go to www.secondlife.com and click the Join Now button in the upper right corner. 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

2‐ Follow the on screen instructions for creating an account.  First a User Name and password, then some info like 

your email address etc. 

 

3‐ Once your account is created (you have received and clicked on your activation email). You will be able to 

download the Second Life program (Free Basic version).  Installation is easy and typical on both PC and MAC. 

 

4‐ At the end of installing Second Life it should open and look similar to this (the on screen picture will likely be

5‐ Type in your user name and password and login in Basic Mode.  

a. The first time you log into Second Life there is a short “walk through” that gives you some basic moving around instructions. Stay and play as long as you need, when you leave this area you will not be able to come back, however see the links above for additional help. 

  

6‐ Once you have your sea legs you can type your destination in the URL‐like place at the top of the screen, in this 

case it’s “Greenbush Education Island”.

7‐ When you are done you can close Second Life by clicking the X in the upper right corner of the screen.
