Professional Experience:

April 2016 till July 2016. Boat Captain. Boat Captain Film Industry.After working in Vietnam, I then moved to an other project in Europe working with the same marine company. On this project I was employed as a boat captain, after completing all the prep work. We where filming with a number of vessel from 40 meter ships to 8 meter ribs. The duties I was involved would very from rib driving to mooring operations, safety boat and towing operations.

February 2016 till March 2016. Tender Driver. Boat HandlerFilm industry.After being offered an opportunity to work for Legendary film studios as part of the marine team, I travelled to Vietnam to work on the new film Skull Island. I had the opportunity to work on a number of different boats. Through the prep, the filming and the wrap of the films. This gave me the opportunity to work with fixing of wooden and steel boats, working on a set and all the wrap work at the end of the film.

June 2015 till February 2016. M/Y Long way’ round 19m / 47 tonnes.Private Motor Boat. CaptainI have joined the vessel as Captain where I have been dealing with the day to day running of the boat and cruising with the boss round the Mediterranean. As the boat is new there has also been a lot of warranty work to look after and the setting up of boat systems. The boat has only one crew, therefore I have to look after the engineering side of the boat and the cleaning. The boat is fitted with arneson surface drives and V10 MTU engines.

May 2015 till June 2015. S/Y Blue Leopard 34 m and S/Y Solway Maid 15mPrivate Classic sailing yacht. Deck HandI am working as a temporary deck hand helping getting the two vessels ready for there summer schedule and the classic regatta in Spetses. I am involved with cleaning, rigging and repairs to the two boats.

March 2015 till May 2015. S/Y Barong C 28.55m / 45 tonnes Chief MateCommercial Wally Sailing YachtAs mate on board I have helped in getting the boat out the ship yard and delivered her home port, I have been busy with day to day running of the boat. She had a very busy charter schedule which involved island hoping in Greece, day charters in Malta and dinner parties. The boat has a small crew of 4 which means duties are varied and vast (being a light weight racing yacht) and all hands on deck.

August 2014 till February 2015. M/V European Seaway, 179m / 22,986gt. 1st OfficerOffshore Wind Farm Hotel/support Vessel.Safety/Training Officer and Service Controller aboard converted Ro-Ro passenger vessel/ hotel ship for wind farm charter contractors living accommodation/tech base during construction of a major European wind farm in the German Bight sea area. While on board I am in charge of the health and safety of the ship and crew. I am also responsible for the training of the crew and passenger/clients on all the ships safety equipment and Emergency drills. I am also working directly with the chief officer in the day to day running/operation of the ship and navigational duties. Also the running of deck crew for general daily maintenance.

April 2013 till August 2014. M/V Pride of Canterbury, 179m / 30,366gt. 2nd Officer

Ro-Ro Passenger Ferry. During my time on board I was involved in a number of jobs ranging from Stores Officer, FFE Officer, LSA Officer and the navigation Officer. I was also fortunate to undergo training in close quarters ship handling by the masters of the vessel.

Ro-Ro Freight Ferry.During my time on the ship I was involved in getting the vessel back into service after she was engaged in wind farm charter. I was also directly involved in a major annual re-fit and MCA class inspection in Newcastle (Dry dock). I then went on lay the ship at the end of her season. Closely working on maintenance and overseeing deck crew in their duties.

August 2009 till October 2012. M/V Pride of Calais, 169m / 26,433gt. Jr 3rd and 3rd Officer and 2nd Officer.

Ro-Ro Passenger Ferry.On completion of a 3 year training course to receive my COC as a navigating officer, I joined the Pride of Calais as a junior officer, in 18 months I was promoted up to 2nd officer. On my time on board I was responsible for FFE, LSA and stores. I was able to start my career in an environment where I could learn many different parts of the job such as, navigation, crew management, training and re-fit work. I was also able to start my ship handling training.
