Take a front row seat for thebest show on Earth: Earth.

Not so long ago, humans liked nothing more

than to gather around a good old campfire.

Now, we’re more likely to gather around the

good old TV set. But the best show isn’t on

television. It’s out there. And it’s performed by

the perfect cast. Moment after moment, Earth,

Air, Fire and Water are putting on a spectacle

for us. Best of all, it’s free. So when the weekend

comes around, remember, your front row seat is

waiting. It’s called the new Altea Freetrack.

Page 4: SEAT Freetrack | brochure

Paratus Quod Promptus;prepared and ready.

Someone once said that there is no such thing

as bad weather, only inappropriate clothing.

It’s a phrase that perfectly captures the Altea

Freetrack spirit. (‘Spirit’, by the way, is said to

be the fifth element – and you thought there

were only four.) When the skies open, automatic

wipers react to the first drop of rain. And should

mother nature decide to give you her best,

at least you’ll be ready for her with a raised

chassis, super-sized mudguards and 17” alloys

with all road tyres. A tow-bar*, roofrack and fog

lamps are all standard.

* Pre-installation.

Follow that mountain.

We tend to think of the earth beneath our feet

(or wheels) as timeless, solid and immovable.

But even though we don’t realise it, the planet’s

surface is continually crumpled by something

called ‘plate tectonics’. Lucky thing too – if the

Earth were completely smooth, everywhere

would be submerged under four kilometres of

water. Not much fun. Thankfully, these changes

in scenery don’t happen during your average

day trip. But if the landscape does get a little

rough, it’s good to know that the Altea Freetrack

is available with four-wheel drive.

Page 9: SEAT Freetrack | brochure
Page 10: SEAT Freetrack | brochure

You get a better view from here.

Every element has its own set of attributes.

Amongst other things, ‘Earth’ equals

practicality and balance (we’ll come back to

Earth’s other qualities later). Whether you

choose the two-wheel drive model or the

permanent four-wheel drive version, the Altea

Freetrack equals a raised suspension and a

higher ground clearance. Two options, same

privileged driving position.

The Altea Freetrack has a 17.6° approachangle and a departure angle of 22.9°.

Why connecting with theoutdoors is good for you.

The Altea Freetrack is designed to connect

you with the outdoors in more ways than one.

Highly rigid and finely tuned, the Altea

Freetrack’s ‘agile’ chassis treats the driver

to a dose of sportsstyle handling by turning

the steering, brakes, transmission and body

into a single, responsive unit that instantly

transforms your every intention into a precise

manoeuvre. Joins and seams are precision-

welded for a more stable chassis, and together

with carefully tuned springs and dampers, this

enhances road safety and minimises body roll.

The Altea Freetrack is also equipped with an

advanced multilink rear axle, resulting in

unparalleled levels of safety and comfort.

2.0 TSI 211 HP (155 KW)

Before we talk about the 211 HP engine,a word about something even more powerful.

Ever wondered where the wind comes from?

We’ll give you a clue: it’s very big, very bright

and very, very hot. The sun, symbol of energy

and vitality, is responsible for more than we

know. As it heats up our world, some areas get

warmer than others. To even things out, our

atmosphere performs a little balancing act.

That’s when things get breezy. Of course, we

can’t compete with that great turbocharger in

the sky, but down here on Earth we’ve been

busy creating three powerhouses of our own.

Petrol

Powering the 4WD and 2WD petrol versions of

the Altea Freetrack is a six-speed 211 HP (155 KW)

2.0 TSI engine with DSG. TSI uses direct-injection

technology, boosted by a turbocharger. Simply

put, this produces optimum combustion by

injecting fuel directly into the cylinder. This not

only reduces consumption by as much as 15%,

but also results in increased torque.

Diesel

A feisty 140 HP (103 KW) 2.0 TDI engine is

available in 4WD and 2WD. They both come

equipped with a Diesel Particle Filter (DPF)

that traps harmful soot particles. A six-speed

Common Rail 170 HP (125 KW) 2.0 engine in

4WD delivers optimum power, peak efficiency

and lower emissions. And this diesel engine

benefits from Common Rail technology, which

makes it quieter and more fuel efficient while

also boosting performance and torque.

Consumption torque, consumption, torque.

Anyone would think we’re obsessed.

It comes with specialhigh-spec features. Like air.

As you’ll recall (if you’ve been paying attention),

different elements express different qualities.

One of air’s attributes is spaciousness. Now

that’s our kind of element. Especially since the

Altea Freetrack offers more front headroom than

any other car in its class. And while we’re talking

overhead space, there’s room in the roof-

mounted storage box for all your odds and ends.

Another box houses a fold-down 7” screen* with

DVD and video console connections. Because

the only way to appreciate all that space is to

keep the kids occupied.

* Optional.

Page 17: SEAT Freetrack | brochure
Page 18: SEAT Freetrack | brochure

The great indoors.

The Altea Freetrack isn’t just big on headroom.

Rear passengers will notice that it also offers

an unrivalled amount of elbow-room. And if

you’re going to be generous with elbow-room,

you can’t hold back on knee-room. So you

won’t go short there either. Fold-down,

‘airplane-style’ seat-back shelves and a fold-

down armrest/table (complete with cup-holders)

confirm a seat in First Class.

The Altea Freetrack offers more frontheadroom than any other car in its class.

Page 19: SEAT Freetrack | brochure

It’s never been easier to changeyour scenery.

The Altea Freetrack isn’t just about space. It’s

about clever use of space (in case we forgot

to mention it, ‘Air’ is also the essence of

intelligence). The rear seats can be arranged

to suit both kids and cargo. Need extra room

in the boot? Shift one of the seats forward.

Need a bit more? Shift two of them forward,

or all three – with a capacity of 532 litres*,

the Altea Freetrack’s boot is one of the largest

around. The rear seats also have adjustable

backrests and slide backwards for those who

feel like they’re going to… slide… off…… to………

zzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

* Applies to 2WD version.

With 30 storage spaces throughout the car there’s a place foreverything – you’ll find handy compartments in the front andrear consoles, under the front seats, even up in the roof. Theboot features hooks, nets and a double-floor to keep yourbelongings secure should things get bumpy*.

Multipositional seats give you the freedomto arrange the interior to suit your needs.

Page 20: SEAT Freetrack | brochure

Wherever you go,you’ll be in your element.

Two-zone Climatronic is standard, so you and your

passengers can choose your perfect individual

temperature. A leather steering wheel is also

standard, and controls the six-speaker stereo

system. For your viewing (and listening) pleasure,

a combined USB Port/AUX-in (CUP) is MP3,

iPod®* and USB compatible. Helping you to

escape the masses is our optional SEAT Media

System (with MP3 and Bluetooth® compatibility).

With a fast calculating speed of between three

and five seconds and dynamic guidance

via RDS-TMC it will keep you one step ahead.

Plus, if you get stuck in a jam the system re-routes

you at the touch of a button.

* Connected by special cable, available as an original SEAT accessory.

Safely back to Earth.

And so back to Earth, which also relates to comfort,

strength and safety. The need to feel safe is one of

our most primitive and primal needs. In the Altea

Freetrack, this primitive need is met with the very

latest in active and passive safety systems. Passive

safety systems are there to protect you and your

passengers in the event of an accident. Active safety

technology is there to enable you to steer clear of

trouble in the first place.

Active Safety AFS stands for Adaptive Front-lighting

System – Bi-Xenon headlights (with Day Time

Running Lights) follow the rotational movements

of the steering wheel, offering a wider field of vision

in the curves. Should those curves get a little too

curvy, you can rely on our Electronic Stability

Programme (ESP). ESP monitors information from

the steering wheel, tyres, brakes and accelerator

and uses the data to make any necessary

adjustments. When you hit the pedal, the Traction

Control System (TCS) ensures that not a drop of

horsepower is wasted. When you need to hit the

other pedal, the latest generation of ABS isn’t the

only thing you can count on. Emergency Brake

Assistance (EBA) provides maximum braking

power from the shortest pedal movement. Passive

Safety Six airbags are standard, and you also have

the option of two rear thorax airbags. The front

passenger airbag can be disconnected to prevent

injury to an infant. And also to prevent injury, the

three-point front seatbelts are pre-tensioned – if

braking is particularly forceful a limiter is activated,

easing the belt’s tension. In addition, rear Isofix

points mean that two child seats can be anchored

directly to the chassis.

Six airbags are standard.

ESP helps to reduce over-steer or under-steer by applyingbraking forces to the appropiate wheels.
