Our banquet program will be a uniquemusical presentation by Kerry Christensen,Master Yodeler. Kelry is not your everydayyodeler. While good old Western and Alpineyodeling can be very entertaining, Keny hastaken his particular talent far beyond what wemight expect to hear. Have you heard songs likethe William Tell Overture or Stars and Sthpes inyodel fom? Along with abundant yodelingtalent, Keny has mastered the alpenhom, zither,cowbells and what he calls the "Lip Trumpet".Imagine Hany James with no instnment otherthan a pair of lips.
Keny was raised on a potato fain in Idaho.After discovering yodeling while on a tip to
Austria in 1976, he broucht the music back and
practiced 14 hours a day while driving tractor on his family's potato farm. He drove hisfather craay and was banished to the garage, but that didut stop his practicing.
His first yodeling perfomance was at Brighan Young University in 1977, where hebroucht 15,000 students to their feet for a standing ovation. His career soared when Disneymade hin the Disney World Yodeler in the German Pavilion of the Epcot Center in 1984-1990. Since that time Keny has traveled to riiany countries to perform, including aboardCaribbean cruise ships and festivals throuchout the US.
Ths is an opportunity to hear a world-class musician with an unusual and delightfulspecialty. Kerry estimates there are only two other full time yodeling soloists in the US andfewer than ten European yodelers who specialize in the dazzling "bravour" style ofyodeling. We are sure you will enjoy Keny's entertainment.
