SeaMOBDemands

Marine industry , and its Offshore sector in particular , has been in dire need of grasping the opportunity provided by the technology development , to close the final loophole in containment of Man Overboard( MOB) situations. To locate and track the person in distress, accurately and promptly before any SAR units are dispatched. An instrument by which the existing common platform i.e AIS, available to all Marine units , is used to accurately pinpoint the MOB position in real time.

SeaMOBRecommendations

AIS for commercial vessels (Class A);is mandatory for ships constructed on or after July 2002is fully effective for passenger ships and tankers constructed before July 2002 engaged on international voyagesis mandatory for all cargo ships of 50.000gt and upwards engaged on international voyagesIs adopted since 2008 by all ships of 300gt and upwards engaged on national or international voyages.

SeaMOB-M+ is manually activated by pressing a normally covered push button. The set then starts sending accurate positioning and distress signal, 6-8 times/minute.SeaMOB-MW+ has an additional automatic water activation option. The unit starts sending position signals upon contact with water. SeaMOB-MMW+ could additionally be activated via a magnetic switch with ripcord as a third trigger function , while attached to inflatable Life vest.

SeaMOBUnit Description .

Depending on the SeaMOBs antenna height above sea level, the range could be approx. 7-15 Nautical Miles, assuming that the receiving antenna is at a height of 15 m (top of a vessels mast)

The effective range increases with the height of the receiving antenna. SAR helicopters can locate the unit at ranges of over 40 NM .

SeaMOBAdvantages

Using standard AIS positions report, used by AIS Class A stations, means almost all AIS stations ,commercial vessels and shore stations can receive these messages and pickup SeaMOB information on their display.

Optimal range for rescue operations between mother vessel and detached units like Work and Chase boats, specially tailored for the Seismic industry.

SeaMOB

Advantages ..

Light weight ,small in size ( smallest in this category) and simple to operate. The battery pack capacity ensures an operation time of more than 96 hours at -20C, when activated.Virtually maintenance free ; No shop tests or annual service required other than 5 yearly battery change

SeaMOBAdvantages

Quick GPS position acquisition upon activation.Longer range reception from airborne SAR units .SeaMOB-MMW+ is easily Improvised in Inflatable Life Jackets, to provide a simultaneous ,automatic deployment upon inflation.Water, oil and shock proof , capable of operating at adverse sea conditions.
