The MUCKBUSTER® has been specially designed for the agricultural, equestrian and rural sectors, and is able to process both green and manure/slurry waste, while the FLEXIBUSTER™ has been built to the specific needs of the food manufacturing and hospitality markets. Increased flexibility is offered by the stackable and modular nature of the systems.

Both systems are designed to continuously produce between 8kW - 55kW of electricity via a combined heat and power unit (CHP) or a gas turbine, which can be used on site or sold back to the grid.

They also provide PAS110 pasteurisation, which means that the residual organic digestates can be sold as high value nitrogen and phosphate rich fertiliser or mulch.

SEaB Energy’s micro power plants are the ideal solution for sites that generate between 200 and 1,000 tonnes of food and bio waste each year.

Since May 2012, the Hotel has collaborated with the University of Southampton Science Park (USSP) to process their combined food waste, together with the green waste from the grounds, through the FLEXIBUSTER™, eliminating their joint waste disposal costs.

Is the MUCKBUSTER® & FLEXIBUSTER™ Right for Your Business?

Do you produce enough waste?You need a minimum of 400kgs of bio waste per day for the basic unit to pay back in an attractive number of years.

Do you have enough space?You need good access for delivery of the system and space for a 40ft shipping container (expanded to another 40ft shipping container for larger site requirements).

Any local regulations?Environmental regulations differ by country but local planners are sympathetic for micro AD. As the technology is mobile, planning is less of an issue.

Will I be able to maintain it?The system is designed for automated operation and remote management. Annual planned maintenance can be conducted by an approved service engineer.

Can I reuse the fertiliser and mulch by-products?Yes, the fertiliser is a valuable organic product for agricultural and landscape application, high in Nitrogen and Phosphates. The mulch is perfect for animal bedding or ground cover.

6Electricity and heat generated from the biogas production is used within the Science Park offices and R&D laboratories whilst the liquid digestate is supplied as a nutrient-rich fertiliser to a local turf producer. The unit produces an average of 46 m3/day of methane (CH4) based on the estimated annual feedstock which in turn provides approximately 35mW of electricity per annum, using an 8kW combined heat and power unit (CHP).
