CONSUMER PROFILE A/W collection 2012 My consumer is a career woman between 30 and 60 who has a high pressure job, where time is money. She is often on business trips and lunches and dines in top end restaurants. She earns at least 60k a year but doesn’t have a lot of free time to spend her money, time poor/money rich type. So,if she has some time off she wants to treat herself on relaxing spa weekends, luxurious hollidays, and buying luxurious and high quality products. She likes a classic look with an edge and because of her hectic life she likes clothes that are versatile. Clothes you can dress up or dress down.

MAKING OF THE 2 WAY DRESS PART 1 A/W collection 2012 I first traced the basic dress block for stretchy fabric and altered the neck line in a V shape. The back a bit lower than the front. I also cut the waist line in a V shape. So in total I got 4 separate patterns.

cut the pattern of the sleeve in a wide triangle shape, the extra width on top is for the pleats. I lined the whole garment with the same fabric as I used on top and I’ve put double shoulder pads in the shoulders parts to

give the garment a strong triangular shape on top.

MAKING OF THE 2 WAY DRESS PART 2 A/W collection 2012 I sewed the seperate pencil shape skirt to the top of the dress. Then I’ve sewed the triangular shaped sleeves only on the inside of the V shape neck line, to leave the arm holes open so you can choose to put your arms in the

sleeves or leave them outside the sleeves. You can wear the back to the front and the front to the back. I’ve made a seperate sarong style of wrap that I hand stiched on the skirt part of the dress, with the front part open so you can see part of the black lining on the inside.
