BM UNDERWATER SDR

BM UNDERWATER SDR is ‘A’ Grade modified premium underwater coatings comprise of specially pre-blended additives and a liquid component of selected unique EP copolymers.

BM UNDERWATER SDR is formulated for underwater usage, protects, fills and seals pores/voids of all masonry surface, special design for immersion with excellent application properties which provides a very tough, durable yet flexible mem ntire inside of the desire materi-al. This impact resistant modified polymer coat-ing sets the stage for the 3rd and final coat for atmospheric and immerses environments such as in aquamarine use, organic pool, water fountain, fish pond, water tank and etc.

• Excellent protection for underwater surfaces. • Excellent adhesion on porous or non-porous surface.• Flexible – thermal expansion.• Very good abrasion resistant. • Resistant to salt water and mild chemical.

Don’t apply when the surface temperature is less than 5˚F (or 2˚C) above the dew point. Exces-sive humidity or condensation on surface during curing may result in a surface haze, or blush, which must be washed off with water before re-coating. Special thinning and application tech-niques may be required above or below normal conditions.

Usually not required, but can be thin up to 5% by volume with SDR Diluent for workability.

Use sufficient air volume for correct opera-tion of equipment. Use 50% overlap with each pass of the gun. On irregular surfaces, coat the edges first, making an extra pass later.

Storage Conditions (Indoors) Temperature : 7-43ºC Humidity : 0-100%

Remove oil and grease to be coated with clean rags soaked in cleaning thinner # in accordance with SSPC-SP 1-82.

Abrasive blasting blast to a white metal finishes with SSPC-SP-5-82 to obtain 2-3 mil blast pro-file.

BM PROL STS HYBRID SELECTION DATA

GENERIC TYPE: Modified hybrid polymer tank and surface lining.

GENERAL PROPERTIES: BM PROL STS HYBRID has excellent resistant to salts, water, alkalis and weathering. Designed for used as water, fuel, ballast, storage tank lining. Also applicable to fish pond, swimming pool, cement mixer, silos, oil tanker, bathroom as interior coating. It can be applied at a dry film thickness of 100-150µ in one coat. The cured film is tough and abrasion resistant.

RECOMMENDED USES: BM PROL STS HYBRID can be used over BM GALVANIZED primers. Particularly recommended as an exterior coating for tank farms and miscella-neous equipment where uniformity of colour and resistance to salt, alkalis and weathering exposures is required.

NOT RECOMMENDED FOR: Immersion service, strong acid exposures or areas where chalking is undesirable.

CHEMICAL RESISTANCE GUIDE:

TEMPERATURE RESISTANCE:

FLEXIBILITY: Good

WEATHERING:

ABRASION RESISTANCE:

TOP COAT REQUIRED: Normally none. May be top coated as recommended to upgrade weathering resistance, or for higher gloss.

COMPATIBILITY WITH OTHER COAT-INGS: May be applied directly over inorganic zinc, weathered galvanising, catalysed epoxies, phenolics or other coatings as recommended. A mist of BM PROL STS HYBRID is recom-mended when applied over inorganic zinc to minimise bubbling. Consult BM Coatings' Technical Service for specific recommendation.

AIRLESS: Use 3/8" minimum I.D material hose. An inline 60 mesh filter is suggested. Hold gun approximately 18-20 inches from the surface and at a right angle to the surface.

BRUSH OR ROLLER: Recommended for small areas or touch-up only. Use medium bristle brush or good quality short nap roller. Avoid re-brushing and re-rolling. Two coats may be required to obtain desired appearance.

Use a 50% overlap with each pass of the gun. On irregular sur-faces, coat the edges first, making an extra pass later.
