Maintaining Translation Memories

Keep your linguistic resources lean

and efficient

Browse through the content of a TM

Edit/delete translation units

Filter for translation units

Find and replace

Batch-edit and batch-delete a specific set of

translation units

Run a filtered TM export

Create a new TM based on the subset of

another TM

Examples: Update outdated terminology in the TM using find and replace.

Filter translations created / modified by a user for proofreading.

What is XML?

Mark-up language for structuring hierarchical information in form of textual data

Used for documents, software strings and as data exchange format

Structure

Freely definable

<tags attributes="attribute value">+ Text and &entities;</tags>

DTD and Schema define allowed elements, attributes and attribute values, and how they can be combined

Rules

<start>Tags that open need to be closed</start>

<start>No overlapping<end></start>tags</end>

<Start>Tag names are case-sensitive</start>

Some special characters need to be escaped > = > | < = < | ' = ' | " = " | & = &
