Made from suar wood, a tropical hardwood which belongs to the rain tree family, these pieces feature rich, distinct wood grains that are beautiful and dramatic. suar wood offers something unique in that its core trunk is darker in colour as compared to the external part of the wood. These natural characteristics of suar wood make for unique, beautiful pieces. Pieces made in suar wood are taken from sustainable sources. They are crafted from carefully selected Grade a suar wood that is parasite free. The wood is kiln dried to a moisture level of 8% to 15%, and meticulously treated and fumigated before being exported. Each piece is finely sanded to a smooth finish and coated with wood wax. This gives it a luxurious finish that also preserves the natural radiance and beauty of the wood to the height of perfection.

Characterized by its unique long wood grain and distinctive colour between its centre core and side trunk, the ovas single-cut suar wood is ideal for use as a solid top for dining, coffee as well as console tables. when using stainless steel frame or granite block as a base material, it forms an exclusive and elegance piece of furniture with exceptional contrasting effect to your grand living and dining area. in ovas, only Grade i suar trunk, which is 100% parasite-free, are used in the production of our solid wood tops. The side of the wood can be maintained as natural tree trunk profile or cut straight for various application. The wood tops are treated and fumigated before im-porting, and required minimum maintenance apart from wood oiling every 3-4 months. we also provide service in removing surface stains and wears marks after pro-long usage. This process involves the use of a special wood-working machine to remove a thin layer of wood (typically 0.5-1 mm) from its surface, and is recommended to be done every 2 years or when necessary to acquire a new table tops upon re-varnishing. To minimize wood splitting and warping, the thickness of the suar wood top is optimized to between 5 to10 cm. The thickness is which to be determined from its wood density, age of the wood and required dryness (RH moisture level).
