The Buddhas leadership was to uncover

the truth and not to hide it.

It does not matter whether the truth is

bitter, a true leader genuinely faces itrather than runs away from it.

Then he preach nothing but the truth.

You do not need a leader to

take a sip of water from

    flowing river.

    A person who float

downstream with the water isalso not called a leader.

    A person who swim upstream

    is indeed a leader.

That is what the Buddha did

to find the truth of life.

    others to follow or impose

    rules without himself abide by

    those first.

    For example before his

    disciples were asked to

    restrain from eating in the

evenings (vikalabojana) ,Buddha himself had been

    following that for long

    period.

    Lot of leaders arrogantly think

that their followers must talk to

    them.

But the Buddha, always talkfirst (pubbe basitha) when he

    meet someone.

    Great leaders are never

    arrogant in front of his

    Buddha is a genuine leader.

    tactics of management.

    Therefore, the Buddha always

    confidently look straight onto

the face of people he is talking

    FORESIGHT

Moses (Our example of typical leader from the Bible) had

foresight from the way he asked good questions in the

wilderness, on the Mountain of God in Horeb

    HUMILITY

Moses was very humble and the signs he showed were a measure of his humility

The Story of Moses and Pharaoh can somehow be likened to pride versus humility

Pharaoh was proud, Moses was humble

Even the Bible says Moses was the meekest man on the earth, far above all others

living on the face of the earth

Knowing How To Use Good Men

This can be seen in the way he urged his brother in law (Hobab) to follow them to

    the promised land

We should note the clever way in which Moses urged him to follow the Israelites,

not first telling Hobab his experience and knowledge in the wilderness would be

    useful

    DELEGATION

    Moses listened to his Father-in-law

    and appointed 12 men from

each tribe to look after the ration

    and

Equal distribution of food to the people of Israel

    CARING

This can be seen when he

    intercedes with

    GOD

    to provide food to the

    hungry people of Israelites

    OBEDIENCE

He obeyed The GOD in providing water for the people by striking the rock and

    water was flowing from it

We can clearly see that he was responsible for the Human Resource as well

    CONCLUSION

Moses represents to us, one in a long line of reluctant leaders of the Jewish nation,

raised in luxury and with the finest schooling of the time. We might say that Moses

was born to be a leader, if not that then certainly made into one by the

circumstances of his upbringing. Moses however displays not the qualities of a

Pharaoh, a strong hand and often times oppressive leadership, but a quality we

look for in all leaders, servant hood.
