³PAMANA´

Genre: Horror

System: Nervous and Endocrine (Regulatory System of the Body )

ACT I

SCENE I

EXT. SCHOOL- DAY

Caleb realizes that he is late to his father¶s funeral, when he saw his watch. As a response,

(adrenalin rush) he run as fast as he can towards the cemetery. Once he arrived, the burial has

ended.

Caleb(crying)

³Nooo! My father, If I had only the chance to prove how I loved you. Papa, patawarin mo

ako sa lahat ng mga kasalanan ko sayo. I¶m really sorry Papa.´

INT. HOUSE- BED ROOM, HOSPITAL

Caleb met up with his mother and she wasn¶t happy to see him and started reprimanding him.

(Enter Butler )

Caleb

Si Mama?

Butler

Senyorito, hinihintay po kayo ng Senyora sa kanyang kwarto.

Mother (angry and slowly cries)

³Caleb, Where in the world have you been, It¶s your Father¶s funeral! Anak, bakit ka ba

ganyan hindi mo na ginalang ang papa mo sa kabila ng pagmamahal nya sayo, pati ba

naman sa libing nya mas inuna mo pa rin yang sarili mo. How could you be so selfish!

San ba ako nagkamali«´

(While talking, she looks at the picture of her husband. She looks really tired and sad.

All of a sudden, she felt that her head hurts so much then she fell. )

Her head started to hurt and she fainted. Caleb took his mom to the hospital.



Caleb

´Mom!´

(Caleb is running with her mom lying in the stretcher )

SCENE II

INT. HOSPITAL

Nurse

Kayo po ba ang anak ng patient na nasa ICU?

Caleb

Oo

Nurse

wag po kayong aalis, padating na po ang doctor.

Dr. Velasco informs him about his mother situation. She sadly tells him that his mother has

severe brain tumor and she can die at any time.

Dr. Velasco

³There¶s a severe tumor in her brain.´

Caleb

³Why? I can¶t understand, we don¶t have any history of brain tumor in our family.´

Dr. Velasco

³Heredity is not always the root of every disease. Basically, it initiated in the nervous

system particularly in central nervous system which comprises the brain and the spinal

cord. This complex system controls both things that we intentionally think about and do.

It is also involved with the five senses as well as emotions, thoughts, and memory.

There should be something that triggered.´

Dr. Velasco shows the location of the tumor using a model of brain.

Dr. Velasco

³Usually, Brain tumors may have a variety of symptoms ranging from headache to

stroke. Like that of your mom¶s case. A brain tumor takes up space within the skull and

can interfere with normal brain activity. To be honest, your mom¶s case is severe and

there is a big possibility of death. I¶m sorry.´

Caleb is emotional confused of what his hearing. He was speechless.



Nurse

Doctor, emergency!

Dr.Velasco

I need to go, I¶ll do the best that I could do.

SCENE III

INT. HOSPITAL

(scene with relatives and nurses)

Caleb is at the death bed of his mother while reading a letter that she wrote for him before she

died. The letter says:

³To my dearest son,

Your father and I are sorry to leave you this early in your life, but we didn¶t leave you with

nothing. We made sure we left all of our properties under your name. We hope you¶ll take on the

responsibility and we know you¶ll make us proud. I have one request from you, my son. I need

you to make sure that the ring your father has given me on our Golden anniversary will never be

taken off my finger and it will be buried with me. For that ring was last thing I remember of your

father before he died. Your father and I loves your with all our heart.

Love always,

Mom <3

Caleb holds his mother¶s hand as he cries.

SCENE IV

EXT. CEMETERY

(enter care taker.. as extra)



Caleb is standing at his parents¶ grave. His best friend, Vince is with him along with a few of his

mother¶s close friends. They walk away from the grave and Vince tries to cheer up Caleb by

telling him the good side of his parents¶ death; money! Vince is a bad influence to Caleb but he

is the only he got.

Vince

³Cheer up dude, at least you¶ve got a lot of funds. There¶s a lot you can do with money

so stop crying para kang bading dyan.´

Vince convinces Caleb to have a party to forget about his mother¶s death. Caleb agrees with the

idea.

Vince

³Alam ko na, para hindi ka naman masyado magmukmok diyan sumama ka na lang

sakin sa bar. May paparty yung friend ko dun. Dude, come on let¶s party na lang.

Maraming chicks dun for sure.´

Caleb

³Luko ka talaga Vince pero siguro nga tama ka, kailangan ko na makalimot.´

SCENE V

INT. HOUSE, BAR- NIGHT

(Montague)

Scenes of how Caleb uses the money. One scene where he uses it on Drugs, Other Scene on

Gambling. Another scene where he tries to pick a hooker. Most scenes are heavy partying with

friends. At the party scene he sees his crush, Elizabeth and he got a few drinks with her.

Caleb

³Hi there, wine?´

Elizabeth

³Sure´ (winks)

They ended up sleeping with each other.

ACT II



SCENE VI

INT. BEDROOM-DAY (HOTEL)

Elizabeth is left with a note from Caleb that says:

³I had a great time last night. See you soon.´

Elizabeth smile.

SCENE VII

INT. BAR-NIGHT

(enter bartender, extra)

Bartender

Good evening sir, want a glass of vodka?

Caleb

Yes please..

Hi it¶s been a while Elizabeth.

Caleb asks Elizabeth to be his girlfriend for they¶ve been going out for a few weeks. She says

yes.

Caleb

³Since we are going out for a couple of weeks, Elizabeth will you be my girl?´

Elizabeth(smiling)

³Just promise me you¶ll be good.´

SCENE VIII

EXT. ATM MACHINE

(mga nakapila.. extras)



Caleb is at the ATM machine to withdraw some money. But there wasn¶t any more. He thought

the machine was broken so he tries again but says the same thing.

Caleb

´I have empty cards!?« ³

³The heck!? What¶s going on here? This machine sucks.

Caleb calls Vince telling him about the news.

Caleb

³Vince, I don¶t have enough money. Hindi ko alam ang gagawin, mababaliw na ata ako.

Hassle! Dude papaano ako babawi, wala na akong pagkukuhanan ng pera.´

Vince thought of the idea of stealing the ring.

Vince

³Ee kung kuhanin mo kaya ung singsing ng mom mo? Malaking halaga yun pag nabenta,

sasapat na yun para sa expenses mo. Total naman your mom is dead she wouldn¶t

know anyway.´

Caleb doesn¶t agree with the scheme but Vince convinces him to do it. Caleb agrees.

Caleb

³Are you crazy? She¶s my mom. Hindi dapat! Pero there¶s no other way, nahihirapan na

ako.´

(pumasok sa kotse)

SCENE IX

EXT. CEMETERY-NIGHT

They arrive at the cemetery in the middle of the night. Caleb is still not sure with the idea. Vince

asks Caleb if he¶s ready then, they start digging. ( Caleb¶s mom watch over them)

Vince

³Shall we?.´

They reached the coffin and Caleb gets a little anxious. He tries to get the ring but the ring

wouldn¶t budge. Vince hears someone coming and tells Caleb to hurry up.

(enter 2 lady care takers)



Care taker 1

Psst, mare, narinig mo ba yun? Parang may narinig ako na naghuhukay dun oh, dun.

Care taker 2

Naku baka naman pusa lang yan. Naprapraning ka lang e. Hayaan mo na nga yun, tara uwi natayo.

Care taker 1

Hindi para talagang may tao dun.

(Slowly, they walk towards the thumb of Caleb¶s mother )

Vince

³Caleb bilisan mo may tao.´

Out of fear of getting caught, he breaks the whole ring finger off and then runs off.

Caleb

³Wait. Hindi ko matanggal.´ (pabilis ng pabilis ang tibok ng puso ni Caleb )

Vince

³Malapit na sila bilisan mo.´

Care takers

Ahhhhh«.!

As they leave the cemetery, they were being followed by a black shadow or spirit.

(extra shadow«.)

SCENE X

EXT. JEWELRY/PAWN SHOP

Caleb and Vince travels to a BLACK MARKET or PAWN SHOP (this will be either on-the-spot

location if we can¶t find a place that looks like a BLACK MARKET). Caleb is still shook up about

last night so he tells Vince to pawn it since it was his idea.

Caleb



³Dude, I really don¶t have the guts to do it, ikaw na lang kaya total ikaw naman nakaisip

nito.´

Vince

³Isa kang malaking duwag, Caleb. Dude,nasa kamay mo na yan.´

Vince does it and calls Caleb a coward. They pawn the ring and they use it for their own

pleasures.

Vince

Excuse me miss, Magkano kaya pag sinangla ko to

(enter sales lady)

(zoom sa singsing w/ creepy music)

Lady

Hmm, napakanda naman ho naman ng singsing na yan, aabot din po ng milyon ang halaga

nyan.

Vince

sige

Lady

Ok sir idedeposit na lang po namin sa bank acct. nyo.

Vince

Salamat.

ACT III

SCENE XI

INT. BAR- NIGHT

At the party they¶re all having fun and getting drunk. There is a flicker in the room for a moment.

It was a sign that Caleb¶s mom was there. Vince sees a hot girl but it was really Caleb¶s mom¶s

spirit (don¶t show mom yet show the hot girl). He follows her outside of the party. He doesn¶t

know that he¶s on the street. The girl turns around and it was Caleb¶s mom¶s face as she smiles

evilly. In the background, the headlights of a car flash, blinding Vince. At the party Caleb hears a



tire squeaks and a body falling. They all run to see who it was and they saw Vince¶s bloody

body.

Caleb is shocked and scared. Elizabeth comforts him.

Caleb

Shet! Naloko na. VINCE!

SCENE XII

INT. DINNING AREA

(Days had passed by after the funeral of Vince, and Caleb is still depressed about his death)

Caleb and Elizabeth is having dinner and Elizabeth noticed that Caleb hasn¶t touched the food

she made. Caleb shares he thoughts about his best friend and Elizabeth comforts and tells him

that everything will be okay. He smiles and they kiss.

(maid enter, put food in the table, lights the candle-> napaso ung maid)

Elizabeth

(hold caleb¶s hand) Caleb? Babe, what¶s wrong?

Caleb

Alam mo when my mom and my dad left me, si Vince na lang ang natira sakin, he was the only

one who stayed with me. Alam mo loko loko yun, naalala ko noon ung mga kalokohan nya

tapos nadadamay lang ako lagi. (teary eyed)

Elizabeth

Shhhh, tama na, wala na tayong magagawa nandito pa naman ako di ba? Everything will be

okay. Believe me.

SCENE XIII

INT. BEDROOM

Love scene. Shots of hands and silhouette of face. Then they sleep.

SCENE XIV

Dream 1: Elizabeth is in the bathroom getting out of the shower. There was a leak in the toilet

and it goes to Elizabeth¶s feet, but she doesn¶t feel it cause she was blow drying her hair. There

are some flickers in the bathroom. She gets a little frighten but continues drying her hair. She



saw something pass by her and she really gets scared. She steps back and slips at the puddle

of water. She hits her head hard on the floor. Caleb¶s mom¶s shadow or spirit shows up and

Caleb wakes up.

SCENE XV

Dream 2: Caleb wakes up and checks on Elizabeth. He felt something was wrong and he pulled

the covers, his mother attacks him. He wakes up again.

SCENE XVI

Caleb wakes up yet again and checks on Elizabeth. This time it was really her. He turns her

around there was blood everywhere. He then notices the ring on her left ring finger and he reallyfreaks out. All of sudden her mother¶s spirit comes out from the dark and approaches him. He

freaks out and covers up his face.

SCENE XVII

Vince slaps Caleb and tells him if he was okay with the plan.

Vince

Dude, Wala ka sa sarili mo. Ano itututloy pa ba natin to?

Caleb is shocked of what he was feeling. He was okay and Vince is still alive. He is still at the

cemetery the whole time. He was day dreaming of what might happen. He hugs Vince and

Vince pushed Caleb confused of his actions.

Vince

Dude ano, maglaladlad ka ba? Magtino ka nga. Gawain na natin agad para matapos na. Ano,

have the guts?

He then ask him again if he was ready. Caleb looks at his mother¶s tombstone and pause for a

few. He says yes and Shovel hits the screen and blacks out.

Caleb

Sige.
