SCRIPT FROM THE AUDIO OF THE WORK
INTRODUCTIONAmanda:Welcome to our travel! We are Andrea, Amanda
and Maria, and we are going to tell you about our trip to New
York.
Maria:We spend fifteen days on it, and it was really fantastic,
despite the fly was a bit exhausting.
Andrea:The first week we had a terrible weather, always raining,
but the second one the weather improved.
Amanda: In spite of the bad weather, we travelled around New
York all the time.
ROOMSAmanda:Our room was a bit ugly, but cheap, so we didnt
matter its look. We share room with other two girls, two British
girls, in fact.
Andrea:They were very friendly, but a bit noisy as well. Anyway,
we get on well with them and we went to a lot of places with
them.
Maria:Our place was a mile or so from the center of New York, so
we were able to go walking to there. It was a good place to rest
until the next days adventure!
MUSICALMaria:First Friday we went to Broadway to see a musical.
We choose the musical Wicked. A pretty famous play that told the
real story about the West wicked witch from the Land of Oz.
Andrea:Its really interesting. After seeing this musical you
cant see in the same way the story of The Wizard of Oz. The ticket
was a bit expensive, but really worth it.
Amanda:After this, we bought the book from where the story of
the musical is inspired, and also we bought the original soundtrack
to have a memory of our time on Broadway.
AIRPORTANECDOTE
Amanda: New York airport is famous for the security due to what
happened on the eleventh of September, ten years ago.So, once we
landed, we went through customs to pick our baggage up. However, we
had some troubles with our names.
Andrea:It seems that they were the same as famous drug dealers.
That's why we were arrested at the police station, where we had to
spend at least one hour.At first, we were scared because we didn't
know what was going to happen with us.
Maria:Oh my Gosh, we thought we were going to jail!Anyway, the
policemen and policewomen were all of them very nice, in fact, they
recommended us some places to visit in New York and even they
insisted on joining us!
CUPCAKES STORY
Maria:We love the seriesSex andthe City ,we haven't missed any
episode nor any film.That's why we visited Carrie's place, which
has a poster that says: Carrie doesnt live here anymore, for the
tourist who bother.
Amanda: Moreover, we came over Magnolia Bakery, which is famous
since this four friends buy their splendid cupcakes. We also tried
some of these.
Andrea: Oh my Gosh, they were just lovely!
CUSTOMESAT THE FIFTH AVENUE
Andrea:On the Easter day, we had a big typicalAmericanbreakfast
since we were gonna go for a walk at Central Park. It was a
wonderful Sunday, perfect for doing some sport, quite cold but with
a shiny sun.
Amanda:There were a lot of newyorkers jogging, cycling,
walking,restingon the grass... Central Park was at its peak.After
the walk, we came back to our hotel, but, when we arrived at the
fifth avenue, we found people dressed up.
Maria:TheAvenuewas closed so any car could enter due to the
Easter Sunday, and it was crowded of people with weirdo fancy
dresses. They werepretty friendly since they allowed the tourist to
take pictures of themselves.
OUR OPINIONAndrea: This trip to New York has been
unbelievable!
Amanda:We wont forget the feeling that spreads through your body
when you look up and you find yourself surrounded by extraordinary
buildings.
Maria:We really recommend this city for a trip, the experience
is amazing!
