Chairman’s WelcomeDear Members,

Welcome to you all and let’s hope for better weather this year so we can all get out and about and do what we enjoy – camping! If you are a member who has not joined a District Association (DA) or the Region for a meet, but are interested in finding out more about them. Why not contact any of the PRO’s who will explain as to what you can expect at one of our meets. One thing for sure, you will always be made to feel welcome.

Last year’s Region Meet saw a fantastic amount of vans and it would be great this year if we could break the 200 units mark so, tell your friends and fellow campers to come to the Scottish Region Meet at Strathallan Games Park, Bridge of Allan. A full programme of events is being planned for this to be an exciting meet, see inside for further details. The success of opening the meet on Tuesday proved popu-lar, so why not try it this year and enjoy what the area has to offer the meet opens 30th April- 7th May 2013.

Next year, Scottish Region have booked the Norton House Hotel, Edinburgh on the 25th January 2014 for their Dinner Dance. If you require further information, don’t hesitate to contact myself.

On behalf of the Region, I would like to thank George Neil for all his hard work in producing this booklet and the DA’s for supplying the information.

Finally, I hope you all have a fantastic camping season and hope to meet you Out & About on a field somewhere.

We start off our year with a Burns Supper at Dovecot Caravan Park, Laurencekirk,

and finish with a bang with fireworks and bonfire in the grounds of Crathes

Castle, Banchory.

We have arranged most of our weekends this year to tie-in with events taking place nearby. From pipe band competitions to vintage car

shows, there is a wide choice for you.

Our THS this year is at North Cairnchina farm, near Fraserburgh, July 5-28.

Situated on the main bus route from Fraserburgh to Aberdeen, getting around

without a car will not be a problem.

North East Scotland is often ignored by tourists, but there many attractions for visitors. Fraserburgh has its award winning beach, the

Museum of Scottish Lighthouses and a Heritage Centre with many stories of local history.

Close by is the RSPB reserve at Loch of Strathbeg,

Aden Country Park at Mintlaw has a museum of country life in days gone by.

The Scottish Region’s Edinburgh Tattoo & Fringe THS

From 2nd to 18th August 2013

Dalkeith Country Park, Dalkeith, Edinburgh

This year’s Tattoo Meet has been organised and if you want to be certain of a ticket for the Tattoo fill the form in below and send it to Mike & Gill Wild ASAP. The cost of the Tattoo seats will be approx. £37, any difference will be corrected at the meet. Tattoo Tickets will be organised for 6th, 7th 8th, 9th, 14th and 15th August only, and buses at approx. £5 each. Tickets will only be sold to people who are staying at this THS. Own toilets essential but the site has enough room for anyone to turn up, whether they want to go to the Tattoo, the Fringe or just camp in a nice area.

Scottish Area Motor Caravan Section (SAMCS)

We give a warm welcome to all members of the Camping and Caravanning Club at our rallies. You don’t have to be a member of the SAMCS – or have a motor home.

Join us for our holidays round Loch Lomond then over to Oban! Come just some places some weekends or the whole trip.

Chill out at Eglington Park, Irvine for 5 days. 31 May - 5 June Walking, horse riding, fishing on the lochside or simply watching the world go by.

Straight on to the beautiful Millarochy Bay, Balmaha for 2 days 5-7 June On the east shore of Loch Lomond with fabulous views of the loch and hills.

Round Loch Lomond to Luss for 7 days. 7-14 June On the west shore of Loch Lomond in historic village. Breathtaking views and walks by the loch. Brilliant bus links, boat trips and a 16.5 mile cycle path - the length of the loch.

Over to Oban for our Temporary Holiday Site at the Benderloch 14-28 June A great base for a holiday. Views, beach, walks, cycling, on a bus route north up a stunning coastline or into Oban town. Boat trips to the isles from Oban.

Join the BCC at Muir of Ord, just north of Inverness to check out Nessie 28 June - 3 July Down to NTS Brodie Castle, by Nairn. Lovely grounds and a bus stop at the gate. 3-8 July South to Montrose at the NTS House of Dun. Great grounds and another bus stop. 8-12 July A long cool drink in Crieff rugby clubhouse with all your new friends. 12-17 July

There’s loads more meets! Meet up in the new year at Cairnsmill Caravan Site, St Andrews in March. An Easter meet at Bridge of Allan. AGM meet with a dance on Saturday night - 12-17 April.
