Application Library
• Visualize all the applications in your Hyperion environment
• Easy access to application content, status, and history
• Copy and model applications
• Validate and deploy application views
• Compare application views to the Master Library or a point in time
• Migrate applications across servers
• View data flows from/to a given application
Dimension Library
• View and organize dimensions used by all applications in your Hyperion environment
• Create/edit dimensions, members, and their properties for all application types
• Share dimensions and properties across application views
• Allow filtering and exception handling at application level
• Bulk import of dimensions using merge or replace
• Download transaction log to audit changes
Data Synchronization
• Transfer data from external sources or between Hyperion applications
• Graphically manage data flows for all applications in your Hyperion environment
• Define mappings between data sources and targets
• Validate and execute synchronizations
• Enables multi-source and multi-stage processes
Job Console
• Track jobs performed by users or batch operations
• Query and filter job listing by attribute
• View status and statistical information for each job
• Access detailed job results via job attachments
Shared/Local Dimensions Enhancements
• Expands the methods in which dimensions can be shared across applications• Enables applications to have dimensionality that is independent from
other applications
• Dimensions can exist in an Application either as Shared or Local
• Shared Dimensions reside in the Shared Library and can be used by multiple applications
• Local Dimensions • Detached, independent dimensions that only exist in one application
• All tasks available to dimensions in 9.3.X should be available to Local dimensions in an Application
• Create/Delete Dimension
• Create/Delete Association
• Create/Insert/Move/Remove/Delete Member
Shared/Local Dimension Tasks
• Copy• A dimension from the Shared Library to an application as a Local
dimension• A dimension from an application to the Shared Library but retain the
status of the dimension in the application as Local• A dimension within an application • A dimension within the Shared Library (exists in 9.3.X)
• Synchronize (Local dimensions only)• Differences for a dimension from the Shared Library to a dimension in
an Application• Differences for a dimension in an Application to a dimension in the
Shared Library
• Share (Local dimensions only)• Change a Local Dimension to be a Shared dimension in the Application
• Detach (Shared dimensions only)• Change a Shared Dimension to be a Local dimension in the Application
Application Upgrade
• Enable upgraded applications to share dimensionality with other applications
• Upgraded applications now have their dimensions imported as Local dimensions
• Dimension names are no longer prefixed by application
• Users have the option to share dimensions after an Application has been upgraded
Application Creation Wizard• Wizard to create Planning, FM, and Profitability applications• Reduces application creation time and improve effectiveness• Consists of following modules
• Application selection – Planning, FM or Profitability• Dimension selection, including associations• Application settings – property selections, validations• Deploy – including datasource creation
• Supports application specific properties• Planning – required dimensions, plan types, specialized modules,
datasource, other properties• FM – required dimensions, other properties• Profitability – required dimensions, flex dimensions

Calculation Manager – new module
• One tool to create calculations for FM and Planning • Common interface to design calculation rules
• Easy way to create complex financial calculations• Graphical flow provides better understanding of calculation
process
• Re-usable rules to share among applications
• Central repository of all calculation objects• One place to maintain all calculation rules
• Custom folders for easy navigation
Calculation Types
The existing HFM application supports the different SUB sections within a VB script. Each SUB section is used for different purpose. For example, Sub Calculate is used for regular calculation while Sub Translate is used during the currency translation process. Each SUB serves a purpose within HFM calculation process.
Today in HFM, we support the following pre-defined calculation type:
- Allocate- Calculate- Consolidate- Dynamic- EquityPickUp (EPU)- Input- NoInput- Transactions- Translate- Generic (new for Calc Mgr)
Calculation Manager – Level of Objects
3 levels of objects: Rule Set, Rule, Components
• Rule Set contains a collection of rules.
• Rule contains a collection of formula components or script components, as well as conditional and loop objects
• Component contains a collection of formula or script statements
Rule Sets
A Rule Set is a collections of rules. A rule set can also consist of other rule sets. These rules / rule sets will be executed in the order it appears in the Rule Set Designer.
A rule set is equivalent of the current “Major” SUB in VB script. (i.e. SUB Calculate, SUB Consolidate, SUB Translate) Therefore, each SUB is considered as a rule set.
Rules may be used in more than one calculation types (i.e. used in both Calculate or Consolidate). These rules are created as a “Generic” calculation type.
Rules
A Rule is an object which consists of many different calculations. These complex formula calculations are group together in a component.
A Rule consists of either Formula Component or Script Component. It also can contain Conditional Object or Loop Object.
Conditional object tests if condition is met. Nested conditions is supported (IF … THEN … ELSE IF…)
Loop object supports Member Range loop (member list), Data loop (OpenDataUnit), and Fixed loop (for i = 1 to 10)
The calculation flow of a rule is represented in a graphical flow chart.
Components
A Component object can be a Formula component or Script component.
A Formula Component consists of a collection of formula calculation statements. The Formula Calculations are represented in a “grid” like UI so that one can easily see the collection of formula statements for that component.
A Script Component consists of a collection of valid VB script statements. In most cases, the script component should be self-contained where it should include all of the variables, functions and subs needed to execute.
Navigation within Calculation Manager
Three views available for navigation of calculation objects:
(1) System View – a hierarchical view of objects by application and by calculation type.
(2) Custom View – one can organize rules objects into various custom folders. Support multiple levels of custom folders. A folder can contain rules objects from any applications.
(3) List View – a list view containing filter objects. Many options are available to allow user to filter the types of objects. Sorting by object type, by name, by application is available in the list view.
Calculation Manager System View
•Central repository of all calculation objects
•Objects are organized by Application and by Calculation Type
•Within each object type (i.e. Rule set, Rule, Component) user can easily drill down to next level of objects.
Expand and collapse various levels of objects
